Wzbt03 – 6Nice to find myself in such exclusive company after a couple of trips. Guess I will have to plan some quick outings to Iowa and Minnesota soon
. Anyone care to be the first to 50 from Wisconsin?
I noticed a few people with a few countries out of the USA. Somehow I doubt my wife will indulge in my geocaching while we are abroad each year (but never hurts to try).07/27/2003 at 7:03 pm #1745545Where did you get the stats from? Insidecorner.com? They don’t seem to be accurate on my states. I’ve got 8 states but it doesn’t show up on their site. Also Sprint24 have done 12 states in their travels.
07/27/2003 at 9:31 pm #1745546Our state count above, is correct. I don’t know where such data is readily available. It looks like Mr. 03 has been doing some research.
07/27/2003 at 10:23 pm #1745547Yes I just took the raw data from the website quoted.
I would be happy to keep this reminder out there and will make it correct for Wisconsin if those with errors will send me the data.
Just another fun thing to make us geocache in different areas – as if we needed one.07/28/2003 at 12:43 am #1745548I’ve got 6+1 province. We changed out team name recently on gc.com from “Cheesehead Dave” to “The Cheeseheads” and it looks like both names are counted separately, although if you search for “cheesehead” both seem to come up.
I’ve also noted that the find counts are a bit off. I think if you make multiple logs on the same cache on the same day, i.e. the event caches, it only counts once. That’s probably why people put all their campout logs on different days.

Correct!
Dan Miller once made corrections for a change in name. He no longer does this. [New baby, Growth of the sport, waning interest, etc. See his Stats home page.] Since your team name is changed on the gc.com cache pages, updating each page will add your old log to DM’s. So eventually your totals will work out right, with a few exceptions: Members only caches are not counted; archived caches will not be counted; duplicated finds will not be counted, as you noted above. You can hasten the process by using his “Missing Logs” routine. DM’s concept and implementation are brilliant. But chances are, that as time passes, you will find DM’s stats will become more of an ammusement. -
