Anyone know how to update my Android phone for daylight savings? Can’t find a setting?
03/13/2011 at 12:17 pm #1944674My kids phones (different Android model) updated automatically…apparently I need to shut mine off and do a restart to get mine to update….LAME!
03/13/2011 at 7:08 pm #1944675Not exactly the same but my Android tablet updated on its own. I do have it set-up to get time from the internet via wi-fi however.
03/13/2011 at 7:42 pm #1944676that was not an option on my system. all I could do was change 24 hour format and change the date format. there were no other options for me the kids had lots of different options. Pretty lame.
03/13/2011 at 7:44 pm #1944677The Wife has a Lg Optimus (android) and I had to turn it off for a few seconds and then turn it back on and it set it self.

Yep, that’s the one I have as well…really lame. I found some discussions on this phone and tons of folks had to do a restart to get the time to update…… 🙄

Which I dont think you should have to shut down your phone to update your time My Blackberry set the time all by itself last nigt or this morning. Even my alarm clock set the time by itself hehe.. But glad its set right now
03/13/2011 at 9:36 pm #1944680My dumb phone does that automatically.
03/13/2011 at 9:39 pm #1944681It gets the time from the towers, it could be your local tower doesn’t know about DST. Call your cell phone provider and ask them if everything is ok with your towers.

I know it is supposed to work that way…my wife drove thirty miles away to work and still didn’t get an update from a cell tower which makes me think it is the phone model itself. Plus the kids phones updated just fine.

Ah ok, well then it has to be an issue with the phone. My Droid 2 Global updated just fine this morning.
03/13/2011 at 10:08 pm #1944684…and just when I was thinking that only Apple I-phones had these bugs…so much for my feeling all superior.

And even with these bugs I would rather be on Android…
