My name is Brian McKay, and I live in Madison with my wife Kailey (bme22) and our geo-puppy Elmer. I started caching in early 2007 while living in Arizona, and spent my first two years climbing mountains and driving through the desert in search of ammo boxes and gold. I’ve now cached in 19 states and 4 countries.
Even though I’ve only been caching in Wisconsin for two and a half years, I’ve tried to be as active as possible in the geocaching community and the community as a whole. I am currently a member of the Membership Committee, and have also planned and hosted the Lonely Cache Game event. I am also working with the high school science department in my hometown to develop a geocaching unit as a permanent part of the curriculum.
When I’m not working or caching, much of my time is spent officiating high school sports. In fact, I get a lot of caches on the way to and from my games. Any other free time is spent with my wife working on various Lion’s Club projects in the Verona area.
