Volunteers Needed

As we are approaching the date of the picnic, I would like to put the call out for anyone who would be willing to donate a few items to the picnic.

In the past, charcoal, lighter fluid and water seems to be the needed items.

There is one LARGE grill available for us to use. I think that should be enough, and frankly, I can’t remember if there are other, smaller grills around. I’ll check that out this Saturday.

How about some numbers of these items as to what you need? (Consider this a volunteering, just need numbers so I can say what we are bringing).

As mentioned earlier, we will bring a couple cases of water.

Not sure as to how much charcoal — never worked with a grill of this size. Someone else know this? It’s the same size as at the last picnic at the NORTHERN (just making sure I know which forest I’m referring to!) Kettle Moraine.

As to water — as much as you want to bring! As much as you are interested in bringing. Not trying to sound flip, but any amount is greatly appreciated.

Is the grill about the size of a 55 gallon drum cut in half? We will bring charcoal, but we just need to figure out how much. If the grill is permanent, I can just swing out and take a look.

It’s big, but I couldn’t tell you what size. I do have a photo of it. It’s just off the deck at the back of this picture:

What do you need? and Do you need help with anything during the picnic? I’ll be willing to help out with anything.. Just ask.. i can take orders really well being in the Military and all! 😀

It’ll probably be really hot (because it just is), so water may be our biggest need, and maybe coolers of ice.

I still don’t know anything about the grill & how much charcoal. I plan taking measurements this Saturday….

We evaluated the grill today — heretofore named Grillzilla.

Looks like 60 pounds of charcoal will be a decent amount.

OK, we’re bringing 80 lbs of charcoal, just to be safe. Whatever we don’t use will be donated to the organizers (we use a gas grill).
