We will pack our MONSTER cooler with ice and bring it along.

What became of the Sunday Breakfast idea?

      #1754624

I’m looking for a few more canopys to bring in case of moist weather. We need a dry area to cook and eat for the pancake breakfast, and any other time we are gathered at the campsites.

I have one 10’x10′ canopy to bring and was considering buying a few more. The canopys WITHOUT screens (screen tent) would be preferred. It is hard to make an assembly line through the screened tents . A 10’x20′ would be great, but a few more 10×10 canopys would suffice. We probably wouldnt need to set them up unless the weather calls for it.

This is the canopy that I have. A couple more of these would be great.

Let me know if you can assist.

Or we could make our own chow line canopy like this one.

Ken, I see you were pushing your way to the front of soup lines way back when. Nice hat. I see you have a new hat these days

If these are 12 packs, we might need a few more bottles.

Somehow I missed this post earlier. I have 20 12-packs ready to go. Water, that is.

      Regarding Charcoal –

I’ve got two bags that are opened in our garage. I’m going to bring those and another large bag as well. That should be enough for a nice cookout. I might have some lighter fluid in the garage also.

We are staying in the family campground and not the group camping area. Should I hang on to the charcoal and bring it directly to the shelter on Saturday or should I drop it off at the group camping area on Friday night. Either way is fine with me…

Kind of fun that we’re getting down to the little details – we must be getting close!

This is the canopy I have. We usually set this up to keep our cooking/kitchen/bathroom stuff in but I would be willing to trade this to public use for a close parking spot (to keep our stuff in our van or trailer instead)

I believe this would work out best. The sides roll up and out of the way and can easily be dropped in event of rain or wind. We really have great luck with this puppy and even kept her up during a storm with a tornado nearby… not recommended, but adventurous none the less.

      GeoPink,

This is exactly what I’m looking for. Is this 10×20?

My Dad has one of these I was going to borrow, but it doesnt have the sides. With all the equipment I’m bringing, I’m not sure if I have room or not.

A 10×20 shelter like this is EXACTLY what I’m looking for. It would be great if you could bring yours.

As far as parking spots, we are going to designate some reserved spots. We need to have parking available for some of the organizers obviously. Since we have all the equipment, we need to have it nearby. I would imagine other people who are in charge of hauling specialty equipment will need priority parking also. It’s hard to give an exact answer on parking, since we don’t quite know the how many cars we can fit in. Since you are bringing the speciality equipment, we can try to give you priority parking. Let me know if this is enough to entice you to bring the shelter

The 3 teams that were going to park their RV’s in the lot have decided to move to the family camping area. This will greatly improve the amount of cars we can fit in the lot.

We will definitely be bringing her along. I was anticipating the parking issue would be a “play it by ear” thing anyway. This 10×20 beauty only weighs about 300lbs so the two of us should be able to haul her from the overflow parking lot if needed.

I was just worried that I’d have a place for most of the rest of our gear, but I have an old canvas 4 post’r I may bring along as well. I’m more than happy to loan her out for the weekend. We were planning on getting there early anyway so you can have her for the whole time! Glad I can help!

      See you soon!

I just got a call from my Dad this morning. He just picked up the canopy I asked him about last week. I met up with him and loaded it in my trailer. That bugger probably weighs over 150 lbs.

With my shelter and GeoPink’s, we should be all set. Besides, the weather is going to be beautiful!

I might grab a bunch of fire wood from my lot on Silver Lake. I have a pile started that would be good for camp fire, but not for the home wood burner. If it were to happen it would be Friday night.

Should I post coordinates and make wood gathering a virtual cache? 100th post too! Wooo Hooo!

      bnb

I’ll be bringing whatever firewood I can fit in my car (Suburban) after I pack the camping stuff. I have plenty to spare.

        #1754635

Hotdogs are bringing a trailer load of wood, and bnb is bringing a trunk load. It look like we should have enough firewood.

        #1754636

OK, I will take this as more fire wood is not needed and will not bring any Friday. No biggie.
My lot is only 4 miles away if there is a futher need.

        Miata,

I talked to hotdogs today, he’s been having some delays in the firewood due to the heavy rain. I’m not sure if he is caught up or not, but maybe will need some. Glad to hear your’s is close if needed
