I’m looking for a two person Kayak. I have two singles and those worked great when the kids were younger…they could sit in front of us. They are now older and can each pilot their own crafts….which leaves my wife and I on dry land.
I’d love to buy new but times are tough. If the price is right I’d like to pick up a used one this year rather than getting a new one NEXT year… I’d hate to waste a summer season.
I’m looking for a longer 2 person kayak (preferably covered rather than open on the top). PM me if you have one (in nice shape) in need of a good home.
…if you are looking for a bike we might even be able to make some kind of a trade….
Again…PM me rather than replying here.
THANKS!

(Not that I would know anything about that.)My wife and I tried rowing a canoe once…….ONCE. I’m hoping for better cooperation this time out with the kayak….I tried the new kayak with each of the kids and it seems like the kayak is way easier to paddle with another person than a canoe is…..ya know come to think of it my wife and I don’t get along very well on the tandem bike either, while I don’t seem to have any trouble with the kids……

(Not that I would know anything about that.)That is so funny and so true! I’ve seen couples who have never fought in public almost kill each other in a 2 person kayak! My sister-in-law and her sister didn’t speak for days after their first attempt. Such a strange phenomenon. 😆

LOL…I still haven’t gotten it into the water with my wife…I’ll be sure to report back should I survive the experience.
07/05/2009 at 5:31 pm #1909013Well, almost a month has gone by. Did you survive the experience? 😛

Well, I too am in the market, although I’ve already tested and survived the water with wife and kids in both singles and doubles. Right now we are looking for a couple doubles so the whole family can go out and not have to worry about how far the oldest strays. Ask him about a certain adventure when he got to far ahead, forced out by a snag in the water and then waded ashore into what must have been the biggest nettle patch I’ve ever had the displeasure of walking through to rescue him. Those screams could be heard for miles. I think he still has nightmares about that one…
07/05/2009 at 9:10 pm #1909015Actually, Mate and I do pretty well in our tandem. She does get a little testy if she thinks I’m not paddling enough, but I always sit in back so I can sneak in a little break now and then. 😉 We’ve talked about switching to 2 singles, but haven’t gotten motivated to pull the trigger on that move yet.

I have….but each time we go out I forget the camera. It has hit the water about 6 or 7 times at this point…along with our other singles. We are having a great time…only one issue so far when a centipede was in the back cockpit and my daughter about capsized us…
