I was trying to use the wap website on my cell phone and tried to search for a cache in the area I was in. I didn’t know the zip code so I wanted to search by entering the Coordinates. But… i couldn’t figure out how to enter Latitude (e.g. 47.12345) and Longitude (e.g. -122.12345).

What format is this? I tried a couple different formats on my GPSr, but with so many to choose from, I couldn’t figure it out.

    Thanks
    Dave (logsam)

    44.12345 & -122.12345
Positive Numbers are used for North/East…while Negative Numbers are used for South/West…thus, in this case we have North and West…

    Also note…there are 60 Seconds in 1 Minute…60 Minutes in 1 Degree

    Degrees (dd.ddddd)
    N44.12345 Degrees & W122.12345

Degrees & Minutes (dd mm.mmm – the “default” on gc.com)
    N44 Degrees 07.407 Minutes & W122 Degrees 07.407 Minutes

Degrees & Minutes & Seconds (dd mm ss.sss)
    N44 Degrees 07 Minutes 24.42 Seconds & W122 Degrees 07 Minutes 24.42 Seconds

    I don’t know if I actually helped answer any question…but I tried…maybe too much info… 😳
