You’ve gotta love the weather today! It’s definately time to go caching! I’m gonna have to take off school and find me some fun. I hope everyone else can enjoy this nice weather somehow. Yipee! Summer is on it’s way.

Just teasing!
We were able to goof off this afternoon and find some caches. Beautiful day.
04/12/2002 at 8:34 pm #1744822Glad everyone in S/E Wisconsin is enjoying the warm weather while I’m getting soaked in Black River Falls. 55 degrees and raining. The rain started Thurs morning at 8:30 and didnt stop til midnight.
Hopefully it will improve this weekend. We plan to hide some caches while turkey hunting.

I sure hope you get a chance to! My uncle has a house in Black River Falls and I’ve been itching to get there and hunt some caches!
04/13/2002 at 2:59 pm #1744824Wow, saturday morning, sunny, and weather.com says upper 60s for the day. This presents a dillema. Should I go HUNT some caches? Or should I finish creation of the series of four related caches I am placing? Hmmm…. the possibilities on a day like today are ENDLESS!
04/13/2002 at 5:15 pm #1744825Hmm… yes, a beautiful day out. I can see it perfectly as I sit here looking out the window. Now, where was I? Oh yes, okay, found the morgtage 1098, got all the W2s. Now where is my daughter’s W2, had it a minute ago. Shoot, slmost forgot those bond statements. Darn, pencil broke…
Well, gotta get back to work, catch you all later
04/14/2002 at 3:47 am #1744826Having problems with your taxes, Alan? You’re just as bad as a college student, putting it off until this time of year. Hehe.

Planned on placing 3 new caches, but due to time constraints, we ended up placing 2.
One is a virtual in a beautiful park. The other is a hike up a huge mound.

Yee haw! You just gave me another reason to get up there for a visit! Did you have to mention the “Huge Mound”? Just kidding! I always like a “thigh” challenge!
04/15/2002 at 2:23 am #1744830I started geocaching early December. We’ve had rather nice weather for going outside since then. I’ve read the logs with comments on heat, humidity and the bugs. Well, got my first mosquito bite today down at New Munster. I kind of enjoy hunting in the colder weather. 45 degrees seems to be ideal in my opinion. I think something else that we will be seeing more of is Geocachers! There sure are a lot of new team names making logs.

Waukesha04/15/2002 at 2:37 am #1744831I’m going to miss the cold weather too. Although we’re looking forward to warm weather activities, geocaching in cold/cool weather is great. One reason we logged a lot of caches this winter is because we were willing to hunt on cold days. Now that warmer weather is here, I expect other cachers to leave us in their dust in terms of cache hunting activity.
04/15/2002 at 1:43 pm #1744832I also like caching in the cooler weather. I think that spring and fall are the best because the bug numbers are low.
The hot buggy days of summer make it difficult to hunt the caches located in wooded or low land areas.
Come May, I’m sure I will be soaking my flesh with deet while hunting. A mosquito head net is also a VITAL part of summer caching gear.
With the mild temps and low snowfalls, this was an excellent winter for caching.
04/16/2002 at 2:14 am #1744833Our first hunt was a 2.5 miler on a 98 degree day at 90% humidity (Path of Pines), and we LOVED it. Arn & I typically hate hot weather, but there was something about dousing on 100% DEET (which BTW contains 95% DEET and 5% water) and hitting the woods in shorts and sandles (ticks schmicks) that is plain fun. The the traditional dive into a body of water after the hunt!
