Not sure if it was a re-run, but “Discover Wisconsin” featured geocaching in Washington County today. GC1DA79 was the cache featured, with a gal named “Tammy Mauland” being interviewed. I thought I recognized the cache – it was part of the $1000 Ca$h Ba$h!:D
They called Washington County the “Midwest Geocaching Capitol of the World”. Any particular reason? Cache density maybe?…

Yep, cache density is one reason. 500 within a 7-mile radius or something close. The West Bend Chamber of Commerce director is a wise fellow who realizes the tourism potential of geocaching. He actually got the “Geocaching Capital of the Midwest” phrase to be an official trademark for our city. 😀
I’m excited that the word is getting out there for our Cache Ba$h! 😀
Cool! They also featured the Eisenbahn State Trail. I knew I recognized that trail too! I was yelling at the TV “There’s a geocache right behind you!” 😆 I believe it was near cache GC1C7PQ.
Back in October, the Discover Wisconsin camera crew followed, Dane, Tait and I (Tami) for one hour while hunting 3 caches from the West Bend $1000 Cache Ba$h. It was funny when we all came out of the woods pulling prickers off of each other including the camera man. We haven’t seen the 30 minute “final” product yet but I know it was airing this weekend. Thanks for mentioning it! Tami aka earth angel of the ecorangers (Professor was in Kansas during the filming).
