So I’m just curious to see if I’m normal (in this regard, probably in no other way). Approximately how many caches do you have on your watch list? And why are they there?

Me? I have 37 right now. Probably half of them are caches that I’ve done that I just enjoy reading the logs on them. A few are ones I’ve DNF’ed on that I want to see if others have the same trouble. And then there are a few that I’m very interested in doing and want to have a reminder to get out there and get them. And there are a few disabled caches that I’m just waiting to be enabled again.

Caches that are fun to watch, caches that I want to find, new caches in the area and my dnf’s. A little over 100 on my watchlist right now.

I have 14. Seven are ones I’ve DNF’ed. Two are caches that I found and like to hear what other people say about them. Two are caches on my “to do list” and the other three are ones that I had something to do with the placing of, but I’m not the CO.

All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.

      I have 7
4 are tributes (one is mine)
1 is a 5/5 I really liked and like reading logs for. and
2 are DNF’s im keeping an eye on.

now how many are on my ignore list…..thats a totally different story. (I hate stupid residential caches and roundabouts)

I have a fairly extensive watch list for caches I’ve liked for a variety of reasons. Most I’ve found, but not all.

I also use a variety of bookmarks (public / private) to email me. My most active list is my “Solved / Unfound” puzzles which is a public list. I also have a private notification list that I use for a variety of reasons.

I also use the notification feature with multiple cache types / radii to get notices on a variety of caches.

Just a few caches on my list that I have DNF’s on.

Two caches come to mind. Not gonna bother with GC Codes at the moment, but the first is “High And Lois Tribute” in Green Bay. Supposed to be like a 1/1 or something like that, but because the Coords are 50 feet off, a lot of DNF’s were racked up on that cache. I probably made 10 visits before finding it myself.

The other is “The Devil Chickened Out in Poland” near Kewaunee. That’s also like a 1/1 too but the hiding spot is tricky. Even Ecorangers walked away without a smiley.

Both are still on my list even though I found them because I get a chuckle anytime a DNF log comes in because I know the frustration that cacher felt 😆

I have 7 on my list: 5 I want to do, 1 is a tribute to me, 1 is a fun cache.

I also have two TB on my watchlist: 1 I gave someone, the other is that flag thing.

I typically have 20-25. One is the series I have a cache in, one is a series I have done and particularly enjoyed, all the events I am attending, a cache I watch over, and I will add a DNF to the list if I think I will go back.

Interesting question….we have 16 caches on ours. Most are ones we really enjoyed, about 3-4 are ones we’d like to do “someday,” and one is a monumental DNF on Washington state’s oldest geocache….one of the ones that keeps getting stolen around the location of the now-gone APE cache. We don’t worry about tracking new stuff or DNFs this way, but I know many like to do that.

We also have five TBs on watchlist. Three are ones we need to find in order to get info for a challenging cache near Northfield MN, one is one I released for someone while I was traveling, and one is one that went missing from one of our caches. 😥

I have a couple private bookmarks with the “caches of interest” now, and should really move those sorts of things from the watchlist.

We love to read up on caches and keep track of a bunch of them. We currently have 37 on our watch list. Two are DNF’s, 21 are ones we’ve found that we love to keep track of, 1 we have unofficially adopted, 4 are the four bases for the capture the flag game, and 9 are caches we hope to eventually find.

The 9 we hope to eventually find are:

          A Cache a Day … for 365 days?
          Frankenstein’s Neckwear
          IAT – Walk the Dinosaur
Lord of the Caches (The Trilogy)
Mission Impossible – Mission “Cut” Short
          Outstanding In Your Field
          Parkview
          Robert O Cook Challenge
          Walk the Plank

:suspens: There are of course plenty of others on our to do list (especially those over 100 miles away), but these are the ones we’re currently following. We also have 4 travel bugs/geocoins on our watchlist.

I have only one on my ignore list. It’s an event cache that the CO hasn’t ever closed, even though the event is done. 😕 Otherwise it keeps showing up on my unfound list in an area I’ve already cleared out.

I have been watching Lord of the Caches (The Trilogy) for a while too because I’d like to do it. If you want company when you go maybe we could do it together.

Lord of the Caches is a lot of fun. We did it in the winter, and that’s when we first met BraidBeard’s Gang.

Cool. A group outing for Lord of the Caches. Even BBG had mentioned to me a month or so ago he might be interested in going a second time because he liked it that much. That’s quite an endorsement!
