I’ve been thinking about the possibility of getting groundspeak to add a watch cacher notification just like the watch cache. This would come in handy when the geocacher usually leaves interesting items in the caches they visit. Yes, I’m trying to stalk RUAUFO1 to get some more poker chips.

Any thoughts on whether this is a viable feature? Would you use the feature if it was available? What if you were they one being watched?

    Bad idea. No. No.

SL prefers to do her geo-stalking the old fashioned way.

I doubt groundspeak would go for that. They already got rid of the feature where you could see all of a cacher’s actions.

I’m sure someone could do something with GSAK and macros to make geo-stalking easier… 🙄 🙄 🙄

If you want to stalk someone, just set up a notification of the area that person normally caches in. Of course if that person caches in West Bend, you’ll get spammed with logs from other cachers in West Bend – lol.

But it’s the best you can do if you want to stalk someone.

Todd is onto something. You could set up a notification set in the specific area and then use email filtering rules searching for the cachers specific ID in the text. All non-matches could be immediately filed to the deleted items in your email account.

There is an Android app that allows you to watch a cacher. It’s called GCWatch.

GCWatch lets you save your friends from geocaching.com and request their latest found caches. A list of the last caches including cache-type and find-date is shown.
An optional service will notify you whenever a new find is entered.

There’s an iphone app and an ipad app that do that too. They’re called GeoWatch HD. Price is $1.99

Interesting… what have you got in exchange to trade?

What do you mean the old fashioned way? I thought this thread was about stalking/watching a Geocacher while out in the field, which I admit I’m guilty of!
