I see that Seth has already put in a great plug for this event as well as some neat stuff going on down in SP this weekend. Thanks, Seth!
I wanted to add (regarding the Wausau CITO) that there’s still plenty of room for more if you’re thinking about coming. We’ve got at least a few new cachers interested in the sport so if anyone is interested in being a “host” to them, I’m sure they’d appreciate that.
There’s also a great amount of prizes. The cache page (GC1N3AC) describes them but in addition to that information, Wausau has donates some t shirts, polo shirt, sweatshirt, hats, flashlights, playing cards, and golf balls. We’ve got a 30 and a 50 callibur ammo can, both of which are stocked, painted, and ready for the field. The prizes from groundspeak (the CITO coins, pins, stickers, travel bugs, etc) are beautiful. And of course, there’s even more.
West Side Tasty Treat (best soft serve in town!) has offered a 10% off deal on any orders for the day from cachers – just mention the event.
Free coffee and Donuts as we gather in the morning courtesy of WGA.
4 of the most beautiful and picturesque parks in Wausau.
Don’t forget the prize (unactivated TB) for the most unique piece of garbage found and retrieved.
The parks department and city hall have been very supportive of this effort and I would love to return the good will by doing a good job for them and the citizens, for WGA and for the name of geocaching in general.
Several temp caches will be available in the places where trash will be picked up and will be there for your finding enjoyment. Sometimes you can’t do things with permanent caches that you can do with temps and makes them all the more fun. You’ll enjoy finding these. Plus there’s alot of permanent caches in the parks we’ll be CITOing and are worth the time to find as well.
Bottom line, it will be alot of fun and great fellowship (and I’m sure great food as well!) This will be an event that you won’t forget with lots of old and new friends. Plus we get to meet Zumette and see her cute new face in person. What’s better than that?
Thanks everybody, Happy Caching!
05/01/2009 at 12:36 am #1906568Wow, this event is getting really close….this Saturday!!!!!!!!
Robin and I will be there, as well as Wisconsin Zumette, the state’s youngest cacher, who is 15 days old today, and will be 17 for the event. We got the stroller all ready, and are really looking forward to the great event in Wausau.
It is obvious that GMO has done a great job in getting a ton of first rate door prizes lined up, as well as planning a great event. Hope to see ya all there.

05/01/2009 at 3:50 am #1906569Wow! I get to see zumette two times within a week? I saw her at KB 2000 in MN last weekend! She’s a cutie too!
GMO is a great planner. I look forward to this event.
05/01/2009 at 4:50 am #1906570I’ve been getting constant updates from LB, and from a planning perspective, he’s going to throw one first-rate event. I’ll be envying the attendees while working. Anyone caching after the event? Can be there by 4:00…
05/02/2009 at 3:54 am #1906571C’mon up Seth! I have about a dozen caches in the area that I haven’t found yet.
05/02/2009 at 4:13 am #1906572Yup – I’ll be caching until I drop that night! You, TBC and I can tear up the rest of the Wausau area after the event.
