I have a Garmin that does not have waypoint averaging. Is there any way that we can average waypoints outside of the GPS? Is there a website with a calculator? Is there a formula

When you say waypoint average, do you mean taking afew waypoints and averaging the location so that the waypoint is more accurate?

To do that I just take the .xxx, add them together, and divided by the number of waypoints you added together. IE:

    if my waypoint is 43 24.434, 43 24.439 &
    43 24.441, then my average waypoint is 434+439+441 divided by 3 = 438.

So my latitude waypoint is 43 24.438!

    Make sense?

Yes. That makes perfect sense. I didn’t know if there was anything more complicated than that to it. Thanks a lot!

When I create a cache, I use my GPSR’s waypoint averaging feature to get the coords as accurate as possible. However, the owner’s manual says WA is effective only if you conduct it for 1 hour or more! I’ve never had that much time or patience.

Sometimes, I don’t have the patience to stand there and LOG the cache while 8000 of our state’s finest try to give me a reverse blood transfusion! Yep, found it! Lets go! LOL
