I am sure this has been beat like a UFC fighter in the past. Yet I am having issues with getting accurate waypoints. Three seperate caches I have tried to calculate with an app on Iphone have come up wrong on geochecker.

    http://coord.info/GC4B8ME
ok here is the first one.
    Org cords are
    N 42 28.370
    w 088 51.602

the info I have to work with is 1451.79 meters at 279.7 degrees

    I got
    n 42 28.502
    w 088 52.647
    (WRONG)
I am using GCtools iOS4 and iGCT for Iphone 4s

Is there a program or app I can get to give me the right answer?

FizzyCalc hasn’t let me down yet, but it produces almost the same coordinates

    N 42 28.502, W 88 52.646

The geochecker says these are also wrong. I say go for it with the coordinates you have and then check with the owner or check the coordinates with the owner and then go for it.

It’s always a good idea to check in with the cache owner with puzzles. I think that they usually are helpful as long as they can see that you’re making an effort. Of course every CO is different.

    Success!

    Whoohoo! Yipee! uh-huh, uh-huh! w00t! Yeah, baby!

    Now, go get it!

You need to follow the entire directions for this puzzle. There are multiple steps involved and what you describe is only one step of the process.

You are misreading the puzzle. You need to to 3 consecutive waypoint projections for that one, not just the last one.

    So would I!!!

    The three step projection

From the starting coordinates travel 123 meters at a bearing of 45 degrees. From there go another 456 meters at a bearing of 165 degrees. Then wander another 789 meters at 210 degrees. Congrats! You’re nowhere near the cache!

    But the direct route

The good news is that if you go 1451.79 meters at exactly 279.7 degrees you will have found your way right to it!

I started to do the three step and then I read that last line and stopped.

Thanks for the help. When I read the last line I thought the rest was a red herring.
