Back in January, GC.com created the “waypoints” feature which allows you to upload additional Waypoints on your cache pages.

The Waypoints feature also allows you upload the hidden or secret waypoints for each of your multi-cache stages. As you probably know, when submitting multi-caches, you were supposed to leave a reviewer note listing all the coordinates for each stage.

Now that the waypoints feature is becoming more functional, GC.com needs us to upload our multi-stages as “hidden” waypoints. GC.com has automated some of the review process and will scan these waypoints for proximity issues. This will help prevent other caches from being placed too close to your multicache stages.

If you submit a new multi cache, you should upload the stages by using the “waypoints” tab. Having them in a reviewer note will not be sufficient. If you haven’t uploaded the waypoints, your cache will be disabled with a note to upload them and resubmit the cache once you’ve done so.

Hopefully this will help speed up the process of multi-caches, which can be quite complicated and time consuming.

Here is a link to help explain the process:

Thanks in advance for your help!

I added these waypoints to my existing multicache soon after the feature came out, I figured it would make the reviewers job easier if someone put a new cache nearby.

Brian, will it help you for us to add the hidden locations for existing caches or do you just want this for new ones?

Yes it would help to add them. As a matter of fact, I’ve uploaded all the waypoints for my multi cache. The more complete the database, the easier it will be for us to approve caches.

OK, I assume you want the finals to mystery caches and all stages of multis. Do you need the “Answer to a question” or virtual locations as well?

When the hidden waypoints are added to the page does this mean the reviewer can see all the multi stage waypoints? Does it still help to email the reviewers a waypoint file for a cache submission?

Yes. When the hidden waypoints are added, the owner and the revieer(s) can see them.

No, not really. The waypoint feature should be all that is needed.

It would be really helpful if anybody who has a multi-cache or mystery cache could enter the waypoints for their cache(s).

It really speeds up the cache approval process, and also helps keep other caches from encroaching.
