Some have noticed that our activity has been rather low lately. We regret that it will be rather low for several weeks to come. I (the beast) will be getting a spinal fusion in Mid-November and will probably be off the trails until February or March. We will not be able to maintain our caches as we would like and therefore are disabling all of our physical caches for the remainder of October and will archive them in November. If there should be a cache or two in our mix that you would like to adopt, please e-mail me and i will set it up.
We have greatly missed our friends and our sport over the past few months, and will continue to miss them over the next few months. BUT We will return. Optimistically with new vigor and the same passion for geocaching

10/11/2007 at 6:27 am #1879960Well T&B we have not met but I just wanted to add that I had my spine fused in May, 2006. It was after that we discovered this sport. My doctor told me to start walking after the surgery and we started geocaching and we started slow. Because of HIPPA laws all of you reading this don’t read the next sentence. 😆 I had my L5-S1 (lower back) fused. Today I am 100% happy that I had the surgery. There have been adventures where I pushed it while still in my “turtle shell” and fell down a couple of times and ended up like a turtle on my back but that was because I did not know my limits while caching early on. Good luck with the surgery.
Also if you have any questions feel free to email or PM me, I will be happy to answer any questions that you have.

10/11/2007 at 1:18 pm #1879962I hope everything goes well and you’ll be back out on the trails next spring!
I guess having an excuse to stay inside during the Wisconsin winter isn’t the worst thing in the world…
10/11/2007 at 1:33 pm #1879963T&TB, I hope that your recovery is fast and complete. I too had a medical “sabbatical” from caching this last summer, and can tell you from personal experience that it is even a more enjoyable experience when you can get back out caching. I’m looking forward to seeing your logs reappear on the website.
10/11/2007 at 1:56 pm #1879964You’ll be in our thoughts guys. Our chances to meet are so rare thanks to geography, but we’ve come away from every one of our encounters with a smile. Heal fast and heal well, we’ll be waiting for you 😀 !
10/11/2007 at 3:33 pm #1879965Lots of love and hugs coming your way from me. Just concentrate on mending and we’ll see you as soon as you are feeling better!

10/11/2007 at 5:50 pm #1879967Sorry to hear that. Lynn and I both wish you the best of luck for a successful surgery and a quick recovery.
10/11/2007 at 8:03 pm #1879968I have to admit that when I saw all those caches disabled/archived, my first thought was that TPTB at Groundspeak had found some way to push Ray “over the edge”. 😛
Please take care of yourself and get yourself well. (If you get well quick, you can join us in our quest to find all the 1 star terrain caches in a 100 mile radius!) We see you back on the trails when you are well.

10/11/2007 at 8:16 pm #1879969If you are looking for “foster” parents for your caches, I am sure we can rally the Milwaukee area cachers to help. I have an email out to a few folks that I am sure would “foster” parent them until you are back on your feet.
