I still have some of those…
The big problem is getting the phone receiver to stay in the modem cradle long enough to keep the connection.
And it’s taking forever to get my work done today because this tape recorder is taking forever to load the data file.
Wow tape drives, now that’s a flash back!!

Should see it on the Color Computer II !!!
I had a couple of those too. 32KB of ram and 1MHz of 8 bit, bone crushing speed.
I really liked my CoCo.

I had one of these too. I even saved my allowance to buy the disk drive.
03/12/2011 at 1:09 am #1944368Great job to whomever was involved with this project. Everything looks great!
Amazingly it all flows smoothly on both my TRS-80 and my Commodore VIC-20. I have backed everything up on the 5.25″ floppy and I’m ready to roll! 😆

I have one sitting under my desk right now, looks like the day it came out of the box. Milwaukee PC was going to throw it out and I saved it. 🙂 Someday I’ll do something with it.
03/13/2011 at 7:44 pm #1944370I have identified a problem with the way the system handles user names. An apostrophe in a user name causes major problems. I am trying to determine if the code for the old website what modifed to allow apostrophies or if the new code simply won’t allow them. The old and new code is significantly different, so side-by-side comparison isn’t an option. This one might take a while to resolve.
Anyone that has an apostrophe (‘) in their username that would like me to temporarilly take them out so you are able to post to the forums, send an email to me at webmasterwi-geocachingcom.

Fixed.
03/14/2011 at 1:18 am #1944373RSS Feeds are broken. BBCode for URL’s in signatures doesn’t seem to be working any longer. Might want to have MySQL listen on the loopback interface (lo) 127.0.0.1 as it is wide open on your static IP which is a security hazard/nightmare. Would also suggest moving SSH to a non-default port. Don’t slap me too hard! 😳

My thoughts exactly…..
On the bright side I am accessing this from home for the first time in months!!! Love that feature 😉
03/14/2011 at 1:39 am #1944375I did notice something, and it started just before the switch so it may or may not be new site thing…. I stopped receiving notifications when topics I am participating in got replies. I did check my options and they are enabled….any suggestions?

NR – I’m having the same issue with notifications and am trying a few things with TBC. I’ve unsubscribed / resubscribed and nothing changed. I even changed to a different email address and that didn’t seem to work either.
03/14/2011 at 2:29 am #1944377Profile’s aren’t active, but I’m thinking that is because nobody has created one yet. Also, on the old board the name of the poster would be a link to their WGA profile and then a link to GC and that doesn’t happen now. Would be something for a future update, I am liking the look and the speed of the new site. Guess you could always do the once a month updates like GC does and keep us on edge on the bug fixes and new rollouts!

I won’t slap. I’ll make you webmaster. Or a server admin.
RSS is broken? I use it every day…
MySQL is supposed to be set to “skip-networking” by default… Fixed. ThanksBBCode in sigs is broken. That’s on the list, but I need to get the apostrophes in usernames thing fixed first…
03/14/2011 at 2:50 am #1944379Not a big deal , but I see that the hamster didn’t set his clock for Daylight Savings Time.
