Caching solo is getting old with Ms. Honeybunny busy. Are there any Central Wisconsin cachers interested in carpooling and raiding the virgin troves of West Bend? I’m heading down Sunday the 25th for sure.
09/20/2005 at 11:46 pm #1750512Great minds think alike! I’m dragging the kids up to do a caching run in West Bend on Sunday too! Definitely wanted to hit Super Sized, then were going to do a bunch more of the kid-friendly ones. Maybe we’ll meet up?

Might be a few more. The super size one is a good one. Had fun doing that one. If you need any assistance feel free to email me.

09/21/2005 at 3:34 am #1750514Hey, everybody…come on down/over/up to West Bend. We will be out of town this weekend but will be thinking of you. Happy Hunting! Tami

They said it was a public acess and didn’t have a problem with us being there. Didn’t see any neighbors the last time we used the same access point in July.
Too bad that people seem to feel they own the whole woods when if fact they own much less. It’s human nature and I have seen the same thing in my hunting woods where someone has permission to hunt on 10 acres, and think the figgin own 200.
Personally, if I had to do either again….I would use the main access point with signs. We didn’t see it for Super Sized but saw it when we left.
09/22/2005 at 3:19 am #1750517I parked at CherryWood today (during my lunch hour) and hiked in to Super Sized…on my way I saw two huge white mushrooms the size of EnergySAver’s (Ron) head. There is a small sign next to the trail head. I’ve never had anyone approach me good or bad the few times I had parked there. Either way, the terrain rating is accurate. Happy Hunting!
Tami09/22/2005 at 2:21 pm #1750518Thanks for all the info! Now they’re talking rain for the weekend. Hope they’re wrong.
You all mention Cherrywood, but I was wondering about Jansen as well. Is there access there too?

Not sure but then you would be better off parking on Park Ave. There is parking on the side of the road there. Yep calling for rain this weekend. Wanted to go camping this weekend but not gonna since it is suppose to rain.
09/22/2005 at 9:28 pm #1750521What!
You cancelled a camping trip due to the threat of rain?
You must have lived in Wisconsin long enough to realize that the weather predictors are only right about 20% of the time.
Even if it does rain. You can always put on your raingear and go caching in the area.
Uncle_Fun09/23/2005 at 1:29 am #1750522Jansen is a no go….no parking available and no access to the trails. Cherrywood is your best bet for super sized and pure evil.

Happy Hunting! TamiThanks for the extra info! I have many ecoranger caches on my to-do list for this weekend.
Still keeping my fingers crossed weather-wise. (Sorry but I hate caching in the rain. Don’t mind the rain itself, but the kids get ornery and it’s hard to keep things dry).

09/25/2005 at 11:51 pm #1750525Did our West Bend run yesterday to avoid the thunderstorms. Cached all afternoon until dark and left plenty to do on another trip.
We know what mushrooms you are talking about now! One of them was getting moldy though.
Fortunately, no problems with neighbors.
