Dutch oven competition sign up and pick up of secret ingredient will be at the registration table on Saturday morning. Cooking can start at any time, judging is at 4:00 pm. Two categories, main dish or desert. Dishes will be judge on the following criteria; creativity, presentation, and taste.
Rules:
1: No ingredient will be pre-cooked, sliced, chopped, or diced. All prep work has to be done at the event.
2: All cooking must be done in a dutch oven, using charcoal or wood coals. NO propane or electric stoves are to be used.
3: Teams will play nicely together, and with judges. If questions, see #7.
4: Hot water can be heated by fire or charcoal briquettes.
5: This competition is about encouraging the skill of using the outdoor dutch oven. You may use inserts, such as aluminum foil, foil pan inserts, etc.
6: Teams will be given a secret ingredient that must be used in the recipe. A recipe card must be included with team number, and all ingredients used.
7: All judges decisions are final, this is meant to be fun and please keep it clean we don’t want any judges getting sick.
