I’m writing this post from work where I can actually login to my WGA account without problem.
On my main home computer, it’s another story. Whenever I go to the WGA site, the note in the upper left tells me I’m not logged in. I go to login, type in my user name and password, and upon hitting enter, I get the green light saying I’ve successfully logged in.
BUT, the message in the upper left of my screen still says I’m not logged in.
Any ideas how I can fix this? I’m guessing it must be something internal to my computer, since I can login on other computers without problems.
Thanks,

Try to clean up / remove all the cookies from your web browser as they may be messed up (contact me if you don’t know how to do this in your particular web browser). Make sure that you don’t have the acceptance of cookies turned off in your browser, or have some sort of firewall / internet security / antivirus program running that is blocking cookies. Finally, make sure your computer clock is set properly… if you set it too far in the future, the cookie you receive from the WGA will time out immediately.
01/20/2009 at 2:23 am #1900643I had considered cookies when this issue first arose and had deleted them from my browser–thinking the WGA cookie had become corrupt. When that didn’t work, I tried logging in through a different browser on my computer. Clearing the cookies in that browser didn’t make a difference either. I would still go through the login procedure, get the green light and yet not be logged in. I thought it was peculiar, because I thought I’d get in on at least one of my three browsers, but to no avail.
But, I had overlooked our firewall software and sure enough, cookies were set to expire immediately after receipt. I modified the settings and I’m posting this from my home computer.
Thanks to SammyClaws and Jeremy for getting me to the lightbulb moment.
