    There has been a problem for quite some time with viewing the WGA logo on cache pages via Internet Explorer.  I’m setting up 7 new caches today and the logo doesn’t work.  It’s been that way since at least last year.  On all of my cache pages, if I use one of the WGA banners that is available on the WGA website at http://www.wi-geocaching.com/info-center/files/cache-page-banners/, it does not show up on the cache page; all I can see is an “X.”  However if I go to the cache page with a browser other than IE, I can see them.  Unfortunately, I use IE for the internet, along with millions of other users.  Same thing when I view other people’s cache pages – I only see that “X” instead of the WGA banner.

    There are two WGA banners available at the WGA link listed above; both are GIF files, with one being large and one being small.  Those are the only two that I can find that are officially offered on the WGA website.  However, to my surprise, I recently found a bunch of Trekkin & Birdin’s caches, and was stunned that I could see the WGA logo on their cache pages.  The logo they are using is quite large, and it links to http://www.wi-geocaching.com/images/wgalogo_09_300.jpg.  Where the heck is this “images” folder that has additional logo choices?  If you try to go directly to that page, it states it doesn’t exist.  But if you go to a T&B cache page, that is the site that their logo image points to.

    I also noticed a gray-background WGA image that has been used that actually works at

    http://wi-geocaching.com/themes/fisubice/images/WGAlogo.gif

    That’s another page that when you try to go to that “themes” folder, it doesn’t seem to exist.

    The bottom line is that I, and presumably many others, are not seeing the WGA logo on cache pages, and it needs to be fixed.  I could switch browsers but I’m not going to do that.  I could upload the image to an alternate site and link to there, but that shouldn’t have to be.  I could fiddle with my IE security settings and maybe that would do the trick, but I don’t want to screw up my security settings.

    If you want to see what WGA logo Trekkin & Birdin has shown on some of their cache pages that actually works, try GC5Q9MC.

    Well that’s strange, I thought it was broken for the longest time but it turns out that it just wasn’t working for me with Chrome.  But it works fine for me in IE for me, also Firefox.

    I have not checked mine but I do see the following notice on the Cache Banner Page

    04/04/2016 UPDATE: Feel free to copy the text straight from our website as it has been updated to work with being copied; or we have also provided text files that you can use to copy from or download for future use.

    I don’t know if that will be different than you have on your pages or not but it is a place to start.

    John- I ran across an older cache page of mine that wasn’t showing. It was a quick line of text and then the WGA banner.
    I worked on it this a.m. then no luck. I looked again and saw that I had to click the “HTML below” button.

    It works then. The text box that Mt Climbr added does do the trick but there may have been updates to the gc.com that mucked up what we used to do.

    T&B’s first image is the older logo that looks like it came right before the current. The Blue background plus logo on looks like a screen save copy of the logo, probably what needed to be done independently from when WP was altering the quotes and no one was picking up on the auto-formatting. It took me a long time to see what I kept adding to the site was being changed by the WordPress (WP) software.

    John here is the one I redid this morning around 4:30: GC2A4Q9

    I’m looking at it in I.E. 11, Chrome and fixed it this morning using Firefox.

    If you still have issues let us know here.

    Here is where I missed the check box this morning and couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t show:
    The descriptions below are in HTML

    Then again it was 4:30 a.m. and no coffee.

    In the Long Description I did this code from the site and it shows in the 3 browsers I tried. Of course the links to the .jpg get picked up and give the picture but I did copy this directly from the Cache Page Banner.

    <center>
    <table>
    <tbody>
    <tr>
    <td align=”center” width=”210″>
    <center><font size=”-1″><font size=”-1″><b>This cache placed by a member of:</b></font><br />
    </font>
    <center><font size=”-1″><font size=”-2″>(click to visit our website)</font></font></center>
    </center>
    </td>
    </tr>
    </tbody>
    </table>
    </center>

    Nope still can’t see the logo in Internet Explorer 11.  Attached is a screen cap of what I see on your cache page.

    And here’s what I see on the WGA banners page.  Notice that the actual images are not shown.  Maybe there isn’t a fix for this.  Some people will see the logo, others will not.  It is interesting to note that the link to what T&B uses still works.  That page must exist somewhere.

    I agree that is really odd. Here’s what I see on I.E. 11

    Page formatting is goofy but that is due to a work update that doesn’t play well with I.E. 11 and if I go back to I.E. 9 it updates back to 11. Ahhh..technology.

    Do you have a “Compatibility View” triggered or untriggered?

    My view on Internet Explorer. At home it was nice and neat, not like below.

    Strange that I cannot see the logo.  I can see them on your screen capture Chris, but not when I go to the WGA download page, and even though I have the html code on my pages, I can’t view the WGA logo image on my cache pages, unless I use T&B’s link to a page that doesn’t officially exist anymore.  I tried the following just now to see if making changes would result in the images appearing:

    – Changed security settings in IE 11 to “Medium” (which is the lowest setting)

    – Disabled “protected mode” in security settings

    – Changed privacy settings to low

    – Disabled pop up blocker

    – Verified that “show pictures” is enabled in advanced settings

    – Turned on “compatibility view”

    None of the above allowed me to see the images, so I changed them back.  So I have a workaround that will work for me and me only; I can just link to my cache pages a WGA logo image from my own photo album, or use the link that T&B used that kind of doesn’t exist.

    But my main concern is for the many others who view the hundreds of cache pages that have the WGA logo on them, yet like me they cannot actually see the logo.  The more people who use the html code at the WGA banners page, may mean the more caches out there where only a portion of users are able to see the logo.  Since the old page that T&B used works, why not present that one or others like it on the banners page?  The two logo images presented on the banners page can only be viewed by some; the logo image on the old page that still works can presumably be viewed by all.

    As an aside, I don’t seem to have problems at other websites viewing pictures, whether banners, pictures, or graphics.  Only the WGA logo.  I don’t know how widespread this issue is with others.

    I believe the logo is there it just is being filtered out somehow from your computer/browser.

    Not sure who else is affected as I can see it on all browsers. Wish I could be more help than this. You can see the .jpg is you copy the address into a browser window?

    Is this viewable? I added the link then also the link to the image so it appears. After that, I am all out of suggestions.

    My guess is it is related to some setting with your IE since its limited to the one browser with you and works in your other(s) browsers along with others including myself being able to see the image and not the image itself. I’m able to see page banners on my work windows computer(including IE), personal mac computer, and both phone and tablet, plus I can see the images in my iphone app that is able to view the cache page HTML like you would on the website.

    Try the link that Chris provided: http://www.wi-geocaching.com/banners/banner-large-border.gif

    Which that is the direct link to the image. If it ends up showing up try viewing the cache pages again. If it doesn’t show there feel free to check out one of my cache pages that the image should be working for all: http://www.coord.info/GC6G1MH

    Try clearing out your cache and temporary files. Could be an issue where IE tried to download and never finished so it has a corrupt file that won’t display that is kept in cache.
