WGA T-Shirt Sale at 2010 West Bend Cache Ba$h

The WGA will be selling T-shirts at the 2010 West Bend Cache Ba$h Mega Event.

Many members have been asking for a more affordable and more attractive WGA T-shirt than what is currently offered on the CafePress store.

Two different colored T-shirts will be offered for sale: a “light” shirt (natural off-white) and a “dark” shirt (forest green). Both styles are printed on the front and back and carry the WGA logo and our website address on the back of the shirt. We will have various sizes in-stock ranging from Youth sizes to Adult 4XL of both color choices.

The shirts will be for sale at the following prices:
Youth Sizes – $10
Adult Sizes up to 2XL – $12
Adult 3XL & 4XL – $14 (colors may vary slightly)

These are very high quality shirts that are custom printed by a Wisconsin vendor.

Look for the WGA booth at the event to purchase a WGA T-shirt and meet other WGA members and board members.

If all of the shirts do not sell at the Cache Ba$h we will sell the shirts at future WGA events as well. If they all sell out, we will consider options for ordering more shirts for future event sales.

We are not planning on doing any preorders or shipping of this product, in order to keep the price down. We heard from our members that the big disadvantage of the Cafe Press shirt is that the shirts are too expensive, and this is intended to be a WGA shirt that can be gotten fairly inexpensively. We are taking a guess at what the demand will be, and will make them available first come, first served.

People who cannot get to Bash or a WGA event this fall to get the shirt would probably be best off to find a friend to pick up a shirt for them.

That said, Barry, I hope to make a trip to Marinette County this fall to get the handfall of waterfalls I missed on my last trip your way. If you cannot find someone more local to pick you up a shirt, let me know, and I can drop one for you, if you are not in a big rush.

Does the West Bend Chamber know that you plan on selling WGA t-shirts at the event? The reason I ask is that is because last year they sold Cache Bash t-shirts and I don’t know that their sales were all that good (though I could be wrong, don’t know if prices were too high, etc).

Given this is their event I’m wondering if they are concerned with cannibalization.

Glad you like the design. BakRdz did a nice job of adapting the design of the 2010 Wisconsin geocoin into a T-shirt design.

We were able to keep the cost down by not doing preorders and by using a vendor that gives us a fair price, so I think the shirt is going to be a pretty good value. We plan on bringing them to WGA events until, the supply is sold out.

I dont think that it will make a big impact on the sales of the WB chamber’s T-shirts, and that if probably one reason they are OK with it. It just gives people more of a choice of colors and design, and some people will probably buy our shirt, as well as WB Chamber shirt. So really I dont see much of an issue with competition. More of a synergy if anything, and just another reason for geocachers to come to West Bend for the big Bash.

I believe the Chamber is working with the vendor for the bash shirts to bring the shirt prices down. So people may be able to have both! 😀 Our “color” this year is orange so the bash shirts, pathtags, and other stuff will be orange. This also works out nice for our spooky themed hides for Friday the 13th – Halloweenish kinda! 😆
