Hey Jeff…do they take requests? And how do they feel about breeching the cheddar curtain?

    Done!

If you look at the grey bar above the page, you can pick other disasters and other pages.

Yes … it makes one appreciate the WGA all the more.

Last week we were in Mo, camping. I used my cell phone as a modem, wired to my computer, to access information about local caches as well as information about campgrounds. The modem operated at about the speed of a 14.4 baud modem. Remember those good ole days? Well, it really made me appreciate how, the lack of graphics on a web page and the other fancy stuff, slowed things down.

Now, don’t get me wrong, here. I am all for an attractive. well laid out web page. However, I do think that web designers should be thinking of a simplicity of design. Perhaps one should take into consideration that one of the functions of a web page is for information.

that would be 14.4k baud somewhere in the attic I still have an internal 300 baud modem.

Some of us are still in those old days. My connection at home varies between 19 to 44K. If I want to download something I have to keep reconnecting until I get something “decent” in the 40K range. I hate high-bandwidth required websites.

Don’t worry…we won’t say a word. And he never reads the message boards anymore.
