Anything special on your list for geocaching?
I’ve asked for ammo cans, bison tubes and hip/chest waders.
Following the signals from space.
12/03/2010 at 7:23 pm #1939373I’ve been hinting for an Oregon, but I don’t know if the hints are getting through. May have to dial down the subtlety.
All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.

Go with the hip boots. If you need chest waders you might as well be in the canoe.

Ummm, what the heck was Jstajlr wearing out in that Marsh, anyway? For cold water, chest waders reduce shrinkage, and have pockets!
12/04/2010 at 1:33 am #1939376I was thinking the same thing. I could have used a pair of chest waders. The kayak wasn’t going to work across the marsh. A pair of chest waders would have saved me some ribbing by BakRdz at Trout Haven. He had chest waders I had hip boots. I had to hold on to them l like an old man with stretched out support socks. A few more inches and it would have given blue b**** a new meaning.

That’s odd – I did Trout Haven right before you guys and I had no trouble with hip boots. I could have used chest waders for Wet Maze, but think I would have died from Heat Exhaustion.
I guess these are like screwdrivers and hammers. Many different versions for many different occasions.
12/04/2010 at 2:37 am #1939378You forget who I went with. He was playing in the water like a kid and I was trying to keep up with him. He kept trying to fill my boots.
Sorry for getting off topic. About the only thing I’m getting for geocaching is an Ipod Touch. I’m going to use it to organize series and some puzzle solves. I’m also looking at getting a Carhartt coat. If it’s tough enough for wolves it should stand up to some of the dumb things I do caching.

I forgot this one. I got one of these this year too. I just love it, but I hate to warn you – Stubbs is going to want one too once she sees all the cool apps you can download.

It all depends where you choose to cross too 😉

12/05/2010 at 9:25 pm #1939381I asked for chest waders, snow shoes and a climbing harnass
12/06/2010 at 3:46 pm #1939382Geocoins.
I was a normal person until recently. (Well, not really, but at least regarding little pieces of metal!) I’m hoping it’s a phase.12/06/2010 at 3:53 pm #1939383I don’t usually do this self promoting stuff, but this seems kind of on topic….I did an article on this topic for the geocaching examiner.

Feel free to pass it along and share your wish lists there, too! 😉

CJ- hip boots for you are like knickers to jstajlr.
I only have chest waders. Most of the time, hip boots would be fine I’m sure. But since one of my primary needs for them requires me to go out in water over my waist, I go with chest waders. (Plus it let me have more fun in the creek last winter). 😀
12/06/2010 at 4:08 pm #1939385Not much caching stuff this year, but Santa is leaving me a stock of nice all weather gel pens in my stocking so I always have a good signing pen no matter what vehicle or pack I have with me.

Hmmmm. Climbing harness. Not sure, exactly, what it is, or where you might use it, but it sounds like it will make for a lot of fun! Do they come in tandem?
