Ok, all you night owls, instead of sitting at the computer typing in drivel, what about reading a good book?

So, what are you reading out there?

Just finished “Anansi Boys” by Neil Gaiman. Now I’m reading “The Memory Keepers Daughter” by Kim Edwards. Next on my list is “Animal Vegetable Miracle,” by Barbara Kingsolver, and in between all of this is “Return to Wild America” by Scott Weidensaul.

“Wicked The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West” by Gregory Maguire

then next on my list of bikes in “Dear John” by Nicholas Sparks

both are very good and i can’t wait to finish reading either one of them..

Good topic Marc! When I broke my leg in May, and realized I would have lots of reading time this summer, one of my good friends brought over what he thought would be the best therapeutic reading he could think of. He brought over 4 P.G. Woodhouse Bertie Wooster books, 3 Rex Stout Nero Wolfe books, Paul Theroux’s The Great Railway Bazaar, A collection of Sherlock Holmes mysteries, and the prize book of his collection, Ten Ever Lovin’ Blue “Eyed Years with Pogo (first edition). Despite the broken leg, I’ve had a great summer of reading. I am also looking forward to the release of the last Harry Potter book.

I’m reading two books right now. “2061” by Arthur C. Clarke (this is my third attemt at reading this one due to the confusing way it was written). And, I’m reading Star Wars Last of the Jedi “Secret Weapon” with my son. We read it together every night before bed.

Reading “Traveling the Lewis and Clark Trail” by Julie Fanselow. Plotting and scheming for our fall trip. Yes there are things to see in North Dakota! St. Louis to Montana this year, hopefully finish our way to the coast next year… This year steaks and buffalo burgers, next year oyster shooters 8).

My son Brent and I are reading the third Harry Potter book Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban We do this before bed when he earns it as a reward.

I just finished reading “Perfect Match” by Jodi Picoult and will be starting her newest book, “Nineteen Minutes”, this weekend if I get a chance. If you have never read any of her work it is worth a look. Excellent author who keeps the reader guessing right up to the end.

But I also can’t wait for the last Harry Potter book. I have loved every one of them and can’t wait to see what happens. I am keeping all of them to read to my son when he gets old enough.

The Good Guy by Dean Koontz. Gotta love Koontz. Just finished Stalemate by Iris Johansen. Lisa usually reads out loud in the car as we drive down the road (usually to our caching destination). We get more books read that way!

Though I used to love reading John Saul, Dean Koontz and Stephen King, my ADHD has not allowed me to complete a book in many years. For good or bad the morning paper and various Internet forums is it for me. 😥

That said I do have the final Dark Tower book (by King) bedside…I use it to set my glasses on.

Sara, I agree about Jodi Picoult. I read “Perfect Match,” have you read “Plain Truth?” My book club had that choice earlier this year and it was riveting subject matter, especially since where I live, contact with the Amish is a fairly frequent occurence for us.

Well at the moment, CQ (no, not GQ, CQ), Scanning USA, Exam Cram 2 – MS 70-270, and Diesel Power…

For real books I’ll read a Clive Cussler novel, but I’ve read (sometimes multiple times) all them that I’m aware of.

I love how he always works and old character in by the name of Cussler.
