As of this writing, we only have about 50 people registered to camp on the group sites. We reserved 2 sites and have room for up to 180 people. These could be some of the best camp sites we’ve had for all our campouts.

I’m wondering how many people are still holding out on making their camping registration for the group sites?

I know I haven’t registered yet because I don’t know how many of my family members will be attending this year. I suspect there may be others that are waiting to register for one reason or another.

We will probably lose money this year if we don’t get more campers to help cover the group site costs. If we will only have 50 campers, we sure don’t need to be paying for two group sites.

So I’m curious, how many of you are still hoping to camp on the group sites but havent’ registered yet? (your response is not binding )

Brian, is there a cut off date for campout registrations?

I’m guessing people are waiting so they can make sure they are free, etc. before committing to camping and paying the fees. But if the cut off date is a week or more before the event, it is not like you can wait to see if the weather will be nice that weekend… so make it easy on our Board and other volunteers and register as early as you can.

In the past we talked about ways to get inactive members to return the website. Many cachers I have spoken to don’t check the site often, if ever. Why not send an e-mail to all of our members announcing major events such as the campout? It would also be a way to help keep our member list up-to-date.

This is a great idea…I often only get on here when I receive mail from someone telling me to check out something they’ve read or posted. Then I find myself sitting here for two+ hours trying to catch up on all that’s going on.
This sounds like a great job for you Russ!
