I’m sure there’s a thread like this somwhere…but I searched around and didn’t find one. Anyway, what are some features that you WISH gc.com had?
I wish that when I search by address an arrow (or something) would show up when I click “map it” after searching. I do a lot of map searching and would like to see where I’m starting from. For instance, I’m going to Seattle in a couple weeks and searched from the address of the Bed & Breakfast I’m staying at. Sure, there’s caches around and I can see them on the map, but would also like a reference of where the address I typed is. (Maybe there is a way and I just don’t know how.)
05/12/2009 at 1:35 am #1907676This really isn’t geocaching.com’s issue but it is more Firefox’s, but this is what I want. Multi processor core support in Firefox so that I don’t keep on pegging 100% on just one core while viewing maps on geocaching.com. I know it really isn’t a major issue its just when I’m loading maps with tons of caches on geocaching.com it will bog down Firefox because Firefox isn’t using all of my computers power. So like I said, not really a geocaching.com issue but geocaching.com causes it.

I agree – I tried to do an Earthcache that didn’t end up meeting requirements that would have made a great virtual!
05/12/2009 at 2:04 am #1907679Bigger PQ limits, say 1,000 per query. The new GPSrs can handle it, and it would make life easier when planning trips. Same goes for caches along a route being able to handle longer than 500 miles. Having a via function when inputting addresses in caches along a route would be nice. Like Chicago to Atlanta via Nashville or something along that order rather than just custom .kmls or point a to point b.I’d even pay for a higher-order premium membership to have these functions. Maybe a dedicated server for the higher -fee members?

I totally agree! My trip to St. Louis last year, via Omaha, NE; St. Joseph, MO and Kansas City, KS ended up being 12 different PQ. What a pain!
05/12/2009 at 4:32 am #1907681I would like to have an option on PQs to cross-reference with unfound caches by another cacher. Now THAT would make life easy.
05/12/2009 at 11:31 am #1907682A different icon for puzzles done on site verses ones that have to be done at home first.
TE05/12/2009 at 11:52 am #1907683Having new caches referenced to your home coordinates when you call up the “list newest in Wisconsin” page.

TEAmen, I love them both, but they are two different types of caches IMO. It sure would make things a lot easier to handle.

DITTO to BOTH of these ideas!
05/12/2009 at 2:09 pm #1907686I’d like to see a big red check mark next to the cache title for caches that have already been found.
Having virtuals back would also be nice.
05/12/2009 at 2:43 pm #1907687I wish when you sent a SMS Text Message from a cell phone using “TextMarks” to log a found cache, that you had the option of having it actually login the find on the cache’s web page, withOUT it first being “que’d up” on the “Field Notes” screen.
If I’m out on vacation (ie. away from a computer for extended period of time), it would be great to “go live” with your finds, using texting on a standarded cell phone. But with the texted logs being “stuck” on the Field Notes screen, until you release them via a computer, kind of makes that concept useless.

05/12/2009 at 7:24 pm #1907689I would still like an option for PQs by county.
I would like to see the gc.com benchmark database get updated. And have a way to delete all the incorrect benchmark logs. LOL
And I have to ditto the seperate icons for field and home solve puzzles.
