Virtuals. We really enjoyed the ones we did.
05/13/2009 at 10:32 pm #1907691Faster PQ, more options for PQ filters. Would be willing to pay more…
05/13/2009 at 11:29 pm #1907692I’d like to see a big red check mark next to the cache title for caches that have already been found.
Firefox Browser + Greasemonkey Addon (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748) + Greasemonkey VIP Script (http://www.lildevil.org/greasemonkey/) will give you a Smiley Face next to the cache title if you have found it.
You may also want to check out the greasemonkey scripts here (http://gmscripts.locusprime.net/)
Some things here that I use are automatically showing all logs, Log Maximizer (adds colors and other fun stuff to your logs by pushing buttons instead of “coding”), & customize browser title.I will post another posting of some things I would like to see groundpeak add to the geocaching.com website.
However, the above greasemonkey add-on scripts are the main reason why i have switched from google chrome back to firefox when I am doing geocaching related browsing. Once you get used to some of these things like all logs showing and such you will never want to go back! 🙂

A different icon for puzzles done on site verses ones that have to be done at home first.
TENot to gripe 😉 …but I would be happier with “traditional multi” versus “offset multi” icons.
On the Left Side of the Road...05/14/2009 at 2:35 am #1907694I’d love to see a lame cache icon for all the guardrail and lamppost caches.
05/14/2009 at 5:50 pm #1907695I’d like to see some sort of designation for “daredevil” caches – caches that only a young person in good shape can chase! Caches placed 10+ feet up a tree, caches placed on slopes with a terrain greater that 3, caches hidden in places that people with common sense don’t go! I realize the Game attracts all kinds, but I get frustrated chasing down the ridiculous!

A number of these can be accomplished with some additional attribute categories, something I’ve been asking for for a lone time. Why not a Headstone for cemetery caches?, A Monkey for Tree climbs, A Brain for Hard Puzzles… cripes, if I thought about it for 10 minutes, I could come up with a dozen useful icons, certainly more useful than that whole subset which includes telephone, picnic bench, bathroom, etc. How often are those used except when someone like myself want to be cute?
05/14/2009 at 8:17 pm #1907697Oh yeah, (sidetracked)
What I’d really like is the ability to sort my caches. Alphabetically at the very least. With 200+ caches it can be a bugger to find one when the only option I have to view them by is Last Found.
05/14/2009 at 8:21 pm #1907698“Why not?” Because groundspeak is too busy putting the kabosh on ALRs and other things that give the game a creative flair to worry about making changes that would actually be useful to the community as a whole. Oh dang, there I go griping again…
Ok, here’s something positive. gc.com is WAAAAAAAY better than the letterboxing SITES. I’m not talking having competing sites with different caches, like gc.com and terracaching.com and Big Bob’s Big Bulletin Board of caches. With letterboxing, you have TWO sites, and the box may be on one or both, which means you have to log twice. Navigation is confusing, forum structure is nonexistent. And to top it off, the sites really, really, really, really, really, really, really suck.
So, compared to letterboxing, gc.com is freakin’ awesome.

How a bout attributes for pine trees and rocks?
Doesn’t mean that an owner will use them. A lot of times they don’t use the ones that are available.
05/15/2009 at 3:04 am #1907701Yes, Rock Pile, that’s a good one.
Wonder how hard it would be to get GC.com to create a “special characteristics” set of attributes? Certainly, owners would use their own discretion to choose how much they want to give away.
Hell, I even start a list:
Headstone: Cemetery Hide
Magnifying Glass: Nano
Brain Hemisphere: Very Difficult / Time Consuming Puzzle
Rock Pile: Rock Pile
Monkey: Tree Climb
X-Mas Tree Topper: Pine Tree Hide
Bumper: Park and Grab/Guardrail
“X”: Extreme Physical or Terrain Challenge (Dangerous Area doesn’t always fit)I’m sure there are many more “common” hide types that I’m missing
05/15/2009 at 5:19 am #1907702brain with a question mark in it: A “Try and figure out what I’m thinking to solve this!” Puzzle
05/15/2009 at 12:07 pm #1907703I really like the idea of having more attributes to choose from, but the real issue is not everyone uses them. I would like to see attributes use a requirement for submitting new caches.

For that you can just sort your puzzles by cache owner.
