Everyone caches differently, so some of you may just cache when and where you want. But I like to pick a series or challenge and slowly work on it. Just curious, what geo-goals are you working on? I usually work on 2-3 at a time. More than that and my head starts to spin!
I’m working on the WGA State Parks Series and I only have 5 left to visit. So close!
I’m also working on visiting all the 72 counties in Wisconsin and have only 3 left to go: Burnett, Washburn and Lincoln. So close!
I’d love to finish off the Jasmer challenge and only have 6 spots left, but 5 of those will be really challenging to get to!
Others that I keep in mind when trying to visit counties is WI classic caches, WI oddities, waterfalls and natural features.
So what piques your interest?

Finding the old caches on my close caches list (made before the new search feature)In addition to teaching, I am now our assistant AD. That means I could get some travel to conference meetings or games. Closest away game is over 2 hours away (and we thought we had it rough in Marinette). Get at least one cache on every trip.

06/26/2015 at 9:13 pm #2040850Funny thing is that I was just asking myself what I would do when I end up finding all the caches in Rhinelander. I would also like to find all the caches in the Green Bay metro area as well as northern Oconto County.

06/27/2015 at 7:11 am #2040854Other than doing the WGA State Park series, we gave up having goals. That used to be our way of planning, too. Life for us has been more restrictive for travel the last couple years, so we’ve found it’s best to simply pick some caches of the type we enjoy and…enjoy them!

06/27/2015 at 10:55 am #2040863I haven’t thought about goals much – but the WGA State Park series sounds really awesome.
Right now I am mostly trying to succeed at the caches with a difficulty of 3 or more. 🙂
06/28/2015 at 7:56 pm #2040893I’m working my way towards Eau Claire and then when I’m almost there I’m turning around and heading back home.
06/28/2015 at 8:41 pm #2040899It would be nice to finish a couple of Biomes this year. We only need one more in two of them.
06/29/2015 at 3:01 pm #2040918I am hoping to finish my D/T grid this year (Owls and Woodpeckers anyone?) and also working on WGA SP series. I have a loooong way to go on that one but enjoy seeing the beauty that our state has to offer. My son wants to visit all 50 state (not geocaching related) so I’ll see what I can do to help him with that as well.
06/30/2015 at 9:03 am #2040938I’m only a casual geocacher living in an area sparse with geocaches. So goals of completing a D/T grid or a calendar or other challenges are out of the question.
However, I do have reasonable goals set as follows.
1) Menominee County in Michigan is my home county. I have found most of the caches in the county and I believe I have just 7 left to go as of today. But they are all in the out-of-the-way areas. So it’s just a matter of picking a day to go get them.
2) WGA SP caches – Obviously, I don’t think I can get all the state parks. But the Lake Michigan biome is doable for me. I hope to do that someday.
3) Bartrod’s OCH series – I love this series and I hope to get out there and finish the series. I think I have just 3 or 4 left to go.
4) Upper Peninsula Counties – While I doubt I’ll ever go to every county in Michigan or Wisconsin, getting a cache in each of the 13 counties in the UP is very doable. The only open areas are in the far western part of the UP and the far eastern part.
06/30/2015 at 10:17 am #2040939We have been working on both DeLorme challenges. We have only the southwest corner of the state (three pages) to go before finishing the new one, but there are a few more pages we need to finish the original one. Even though there is no challenge final for the original one anymore, it is still a challenge we can complete for ourselves. We have had the 366 days done for quite a while now, but we haven’t found any cache that celebrates that, and if we do, we do. If not, we have our completion.
We still go for at least one cache a month, and we have done that ever since we started caching in October of 2007.
A real challenge on that one… 🙄 😉07/01/2015 at 9:01 pm #2040971I’m working my way towards Eau Claire and then when I’m almost there I’m turning around and heading back home.

Last time I checked, there were still 15 counties in the U.P. That is unless Michigan started ceding land back to Wisconsin. Still a good goal tho, the U.P. is a very beautiful area.
