Anybody know what happened to him? He’s placed some great caches. Just curious.

When we did his Nature Hill Odyssey last fall, we couldn’t find the “Doc” and he replaced it, but it took him a couple weeks because he apparently travels quite a bit! We were happy he made time to do it. It is a great 14 (FOURTEEN) stage multi.!!!

Anyway, We don’t know him personally, but have communicated via email, and he did sound like quite the busy guy!

I emailed him about Scarabidae Deltosum Gibbosum…er.. whatevers its name is. I got a reply from him but I can only guess that his interest has gone to other things. Which reminds me, I wonder if the final for that cache is still there? Someone might want to check that out and do a rescue. Perhaps email Art and if he doesn’t want to back, rehide it elsewhere as a single stage cache. I believe it currently is in violation of our rules for proximity to railroad tracks.

I remember Nature Hill well. It is where I first met Cachecows. We met around waypoint nine as I recall, the pregnat tree, and we all had some trouble with finding it but they eventually found it and snuck away to finish the hunt. I’m betting that this hide inspired Ranger Boy for his Ranger Patrol. Thats 21 or 22 waypoints depending on your puzzle skill.

Hey you are correct! I did get the idea for a longer multi from Nature Hill. Also, the search for his Scarabidae Deltosum Gibbosum Delight’s 1st marker caused me to meet fellow geocachers for the first time and inspired me to think of creative ways to camoflauge markers, yet have them in plain sight. I used some of these techniques recently in Honey I shrunk the Cache, and 94th on 94 recently. Indeed people are making multiple trips to solve them.

I got an email from him around the time I was stuck on “Scarabidae”. He said he was quite busy and didn’t have the time for geocaching that he once did. Too bad, he has made some classics.
