Yesterday the whole crew went out for a dozen caches. While taking the long, unecessary bushwhack from cache to cache, we came along a complete skeleton of something I can’t identify. At first I thought maybe a deer, based on size and the fact it had sockets for horns. But after getting home and checking the net, I’m sure this is no deer. It looks quite like a wild boars skull, but then this wild boar would stand nearly 4 foot tall at the shoulders.
can anyone identify this creature?

It’s a deer. This is it’s pelvis, not it’s skull.
Doh!
It only took searching through a couple hundred pic’s to get my answer. 😀
Now the quesiton is…how come all of those bones are in a pile lilke that? Were they piled up after being picked clean?

W gathered them up and put them together in a pile. We posted the coords for any locals that want to come by and check it out. I wish we could have located the skull to get a better idea of how big this guy was. I can say for sure by the size of it’s legs and shoulders that this was a BIG one. Also found shot gun shells very near and around the site. Scary thought since this was in Kenosha’s premier park (Petrifying Spings).
