What is required to place a new cache in Wisconsin ?

I want to place at least 1 cache in a city park [or maybe just outside of it], is there anything in particular that I need to do in order to get permission to do so?

No, seriously, Sparki2003 asks a legitamate question here, please forgive our jesting.

Best to speak with the P&R department at the city hall or wherever their office may be to explain what you wish to do. There may be areas that are off limits to cache placements. Some counties have fees but I don’t believe Rock County is one, I may be wrong and ask someone in that area to pipe in. There are several seasoned cachers and cache owners in the Janesville area. I am sure they can answer more regional questions.
