We rarely put any loot because I haven’t found anywhere to get it.

That’s interesting Noonan.  You can tell that you have recently moved and it sounds like you have eliminated a lot of the clutter we accumulate in all those drawers in our home. I actually tend to place more in my own caches only because I find a lot of caches tend to be smaller rather than larger.  My current stash bag has firearm safety locks, mosquito/tick repellent wipes, hand sanitizers and other items I have acquired in my work or from people I work with (EMS and police don’t always have a lot of fun freebies).  I also have those little trinkets that we all acquire and at least I toss in the proverbial “junk” drawer.  These include the small toys, pins and the likes.  As I said earlier, the tendency for so many cache containers to be smaller (How often do we see the phrase “Container is a pill bottle”) has really put a crimp on putting items in caches, I often leave the stash bag behind.  The most unusual item I keep stocked in one of my local caches is a sealed selection of prints of drawings I created years ago of historic buildings.

I like the rubber ducks.  That would have been a great one for the flowage trip.

I grab whatever is left in caches I rescue or whatever I continue to dig up that my kids (now adults) used to squirrel away.

My son collects the rubber ducks we trade for in caches. One day I will have plenty to put in containers! Our kids are at the age where the trinkets are treasure to them so it is all in coming instead of out going.

I make glass bead stones, buy small discounted items for the kids to find like character rings or bracelets, buy muiltpacks of small toys or animal figurines from the party sections of stores or Oriental Trading, the kiddo likes to make characters with perler beads. Soon I hope to have my own pathtags to leave.

Leaving pathtags in special caches and trading at events. Got into the “ducks” and now place toys for kids. The WGA Campout will likely have Kids Candy Cache and a Kids Toy Cache which I’ll have some things to add.

Lately I’ve been leaving carabiners or marbles.  A bag of a few hundred marbles is pretty cheap, and I put 4 to 6 of them in 2″ x 3″ ziplock bags.  Overall cost maybe 10 cents.  With the carabiners, I get them on eBay, cost is $1.20 for a package of 10, so that totals 12 cents each.  I typically order 10 packages at a time for a total of 100 carabiners.  Shipping is free.

I went to a restaurant in Duluth a few months ago.  In their lobby they had this huge box full of these handmade porcelain pins.  I can’t remember what the price was exactly, something like $5 to fill up a paper bag.  I stuffed that sucker full!  Now I have lots and lots of swag.

Recently while visiting a Madison area park we noticed several painted small stones. My granddaughter likes to make swag items and think she might be interested in doing this as a summer craft project.

Not sure if the following link will work…
