I have been using myside for years on my Blog. Kinda how my content comes out my side. Or in this case, their might be a Geocache on myside. ๐
09/23/2010 at 2:58 pm #1914843Originally I signed up to geocaching.com with my standard user name that I use for most websites. Then the first time I went caching with the kids my dad came along and was the one that found the cache. As I corralled the kids he signed the log with our last name Schedler, then I expanded to Schedlers. So I guess my dad picked our team name. Works out well as I could be caching solo or up to a pack of 5 depending on how may of my kids are along.
09/23/2010 at 7:02 pm #1914844Sandman is a nickname I picked up at a job I had about 8 years ago. I was working in a machine shop and I was the sandblaster and I was working on a machine one day and a guy yelled hey Sandman I answered so it kinda stuck. The 41 was my basketball number and my racing number back in the day and the 82 was the year of my first serious girlfiends yr she was born so that kinda stuck. I added the Team_Sandman this year when my better half said she didn’t feel a part of the team so I added the Team and droped the 4182.. So the Team envolved my better half both kids dog and myself..

There was a television commercial for a credit card company several years ago featuring a husband walking around his house stating how far he was from Los Angles, how fast he was walking, what his elevation was, etc… all while his wife was watching him, shaking her head. The premise was that the wife had bought a GPSr for her husband, and now he was driving her crazy with it. At the end of the commercial the wife mutters “Should’ve bought him the tie”. My wife bought me my GPSr for Christmas one year, and let’s say that the commercial hits really close to home.
Now you know.๐ And I liked yr name even before I heard the story! I remember how funny that commercial was too! That was before my caching days and yet it still made an impression… ah my destiny calling me!
09/24/2010 at 5:13 am #1914846What fun to read all of these “stories”! Marg is what my family of origin has always called me. “mx” showed up in my dirtbiking/motocross (mx) days before the lil girl came into our lives.

My name came as a result of Going Along on cache outings with LOSTMomof2 who added one more to the family and has become LOSTMom… hence GrannyGoesAlong. Makes for a long name to sign… sometimes it’s just GGA on the log.
Really wanted to use a nickname… and what’s on my car license plate: joyzie … unbelievable… it was already in use?!?

There’s a 6-pack of beer in it for the first one to find that commercial on-line somewhere. I’ve looked but cannot locate it.

No commercial, so no beer here, but this might help someone else win the prize! Here’s a link to an Amazon page for a Garmin GPS III, where the first and third ‘Customer Reviews’ reference a 1999 Amazon commercial (related to USPS and Garmin?)
Hope this helps! ๐

12/04/2010 at 3:04 am #1914852We have enjoyed reading about everyones handles so I guess I have to explain our handle… I started out as Bobber16 for (Bobber- my motorcycle) and (16- my favorite number). This handle did not last long as once my better half got more involved she thought we needed something better.. She came up with (2nd Time Around) for the fact that it is both of our 2nd chance at marriage and a lasting partnership.. We should have been married already but have put it off untill this next summer… Our big day is aug. 13 and go figure we will be missing the West Bend Cache Bash….. We both almost thought about putting it off again being that we had such a blast at last summers event but we figured the wedding was just a little more important. We will have to miss next year but will not miss W.B.C.B. 2012… See you all on the trails and Happy Caching….. ๐
