Browsing thru the Recent Logs listing, I see fewer and fewer logs by the old timers here in Wisconsin. What are you’all doing? Caching out of state?

It’s going to be a big undertaking to meet some of these new cachers out there. There are so many of them popping up. Looks like some will be here to stay, based on their numerous logs.

Actually, I’m caching more in the state than I’ve ever been. For a time, I had more Illinois finds than Wisconsin finds. Now that I don’t work south of the border anymore, I’m starting to shift the balance. All you find cache hiders in the Appleton area sure helped that out! (Watch out, Sheboygan… You’re next!)

We did 7 in MI on Friday. We have now done 170 in MI as some are much closer than WI caches for us.

Just took a little two-month caching hiatus. Wanted to take a break so that there could become a build-up of new caches closer to us again. With the warmer weather, we’ll be getting back out and about soon.

I don’t know, am I an ‘ole’ timer? Funney, I don’t feel like one.

For some time, the number of finds for me have been registered as finds. I do sign the log and I do leave a message, especially if I have been to a geocache with a view, or one with a nice walk.
I have found that the journey is more than the find.
With fuel almost cresting the $3 mark, I have found that the jouney on a bicycle or a small motorcycle does make the journey more interesting.

We are still around but have been doing much more benchmarking as of late.

We enjoy the history and we are getting much more satisfaction from this than looking for another film canister at a park and ride.

That’s not to say we are not caching anymore, just being more selective on the ones we do.

I’ve noticed that our postings usually don’t appear in the WGA “recent logs” list for some reason. And yes, I wait more than 15 minutes after posting; even going back to check an hour or two later. I will see logs that are older and newer than ours.

    Gosh,
I just stopped for a coffee exchange,
I didn’t think I was gone that long.

We (Commander Bob & I) haven’t done a lot of caching as of late. We have been out a few times, usually after an event, but not too much. Those that have been logged are under our team name (CB&MB)…or they’re sitting on a list of caches waiting to be logged. We only log under our individual names if we aren’t caching together, or one of us has already been to the site.
So, while you may not see many postings under Commander Bob or MajorBrat, we are still out there caching as CB&MB…just not as much as we’d like. But hey, it’s Spring, right?

That’s something I could say about everyone else.

    But I won’t.

I’m not sure what is considered to be an “old timer” but we started caching in January ’03. However, to date we only have 151 finds. With that said though, we’ve found caches from one end of the country to the other… It’s been fun.

We still poke around a bit here and there and we still consider this a fun hobby. However, we have a lot of varying interests that take us in a variety of directions…

We’re going to try and make an event in the next year or two…

    Best wishes to all.

Team Rubeeslpr took a break from caching for the winter months….Mrs. Rubeeslpr cannot stand to be cold. Now that the temps have risen, look for us to be out there again soon. We also had found most of the caches within 33 miles of our house, but now there are quite a few new ones for us to seek.

    See you on the trails!

Yeah, whatever! What you meant to say is that you’re too busy hob-knobbing with the “other half” and traveling the world. Nice try though…

As for the getting back out there…hmmmm…guess that has to wait till your passport is stamped a couple more times!

We’ve been pecking at this from late March of ’02 seen alot of cool things.

We are slowly getting more and more back into it. The kids are getting older and it is a bit easier to bring them along or let Grandma watch them

We have alot of caches to hit just north of us near Mountain, I hope we can get most of those done before the bugs get bad, we will see how it goes.
