I would still wear an orange hat and shirt or jacket or vest, as the edge of non-hunting parks border private land which may be huntable. I would think that it is actually pretty safe in most places including hunting areas as long as you have a orange jacket or vest on. Fur jackets, brown or white would be poor choices to wear (unless the life ins is paid up ) Many hunters have had to take a safety course (if born after 1973) to get a license and in general are very safety conscious group. 500,000 hunters and 2 or 3 accidents a year and that is just the deer gun hunters.
