We trudged through all 31 days. Almost forgot about it a couple long days at work but caught some before dark. Made a FTF this morning on the last day. I don’t think I will be able to do it again because all the caches within 20 miles of home are gone except for 2.

Congratulations to all that made it. 😀

We got #31 today in Austin, Minnesota. One FTF in the process.

Made it with the help of many midnight FTFs, went out in style today hitting Bice county forest and grabbing Trekkin & birdin’s Classic Hikes challnge as well as the Cheesy Well Rounded Cacher challenge. Hit #4700 somewhere in the forest today, fun month but glad it’s over 😀

We were able to complete it, finishing in style with several paddle caches. It was a lot of fun, more than doubled our previous streak, and gave me a reason to look at our souvenirs. If Groundspeak has found a way to get more value out of an overlooked feature then more power to them. I am surprised at all the angst and outright distaste. Souvenirs are almost by definition the cheap garbage scavenged off the gift shop shelf as we pass in or out of some amazing place. I’m not sure why anyone would feel that they are being robbed of an experience by the expansion of souvenirs. But, we all play differently, so seek your muse. I have 8) .

I made it through all 31 days! Don’t think I will do that again for a while! Hey, wasn’t there a bonus souvenir for those that logged all 31 days?

    Got ’em.

We had previously done a much longer streak last year and weren’t expecting to cache for a month straight anymore, but this 31 day thing gave us the extra incentive to go for a month straight. Compared to our previous streak this one was pretty manageable, and fun too! For us it was a marriage enhancer that made us go outside and play and have quality time together. We kind of don’t care about the devalued souvenirs, but then again we kind of do! The bottom line is we had fun doing something we both like to do.

We got it! Wasn’t too hard because we actually have quite a few nearby us that we hadn’t found – plus we traveled quite a bit in August so that made it easy also. Fun month, but would not want to do that every month.

I made it through all 31 days of August but only found caches on 12 different days. Still 0.387 batting average is pretty good.
