I was afraid I might have a conflict, but the day has cleared for me. How could I miss a picnic that’s practically in my back yard?
With the exception of winter, I don’t think we’ve ever cached in southern Kettle Moraine without picking up a couple ticks. Be prepared! 😈
07/04/2006 at 10:37 pm #1762867Put us down for 2. Sounds like a fun time and a chance to make new friends. We need to know what to bring. When will the full details come out for this picnic? or have I missed them some place?
07/08/2006 at 6:16 am #1762868Everybody who said they are coming in this topic should now officially let us know they are coming by registering for the event. See this topic:
Geo-Picnic Event Registration Open
Personally, I have a conflict with my 10 year high school reunion. I’m still debating whether I should just skip the stupid reunion, but if I don’t show that means like 3% or 4% of my graduating class will be absent. (With such a small class, my absence would be noticed, and I’d probably catch some flak from classmates for ditching them.)
What I’m really hoping will happen is that the Board will decide to have an early pancake breakfast before the caching at the Picnic begins. Then I could officially attend the event to keep my Geo-Picnic attendance streak going and make it to the reunion by noon.
If you think having a pancake breakfast is a good idea, and would be willing to come early and get something to eat, post in this topic:

07/23/2006 at 5:18 pm #1762870hello all me and my wife will be coming this will be our first geo event. hope to meet a whole bunch of people and make some friends. one question though on the registration it says for the food to pass around on spots says your last name the next section says your geo name which one do you go with and how much food should you bring
07/23/2006 at 5:25 pm #1762871I think it’s historically your last name (someone will let us know if that’s incorrect).
Bring enough as if you were to feed your geo-team. There is usually plenty of food to go around.
Love the puppy avatar!

07/24/2006 at 5:44 pm #1762873Okay — upon checking the picnic cache page, it does say to use your geocaching.com username! I’ve never noticed that before (guess I should read more carefully!)
Basically, bring whatever you would like to share with others.
So, maybe instead of a fabulous dessert, I’ll bring something healthy!

08/15/2006 at 2:00 am #1762875Looks like I can now make it, at least for part of the day anyway. I am planning on doing some early morning caches at sunrise in the area. Anyone interested in joining me? Robin? Bob?
08/15/2006 at 2:13 am #1762876Sounds like a plan in the works. E-mail us details.
