MemberWith only 4 open seats on the WGA Board, and many more qualified folks running for the board this year, how would your service on the WGA Board be best for the WGA?

MemberI am All-In. When I volunteer for something, it isn’t on a lark but becomes a personal commitment and responsibility. I want to do the best I can to help move our group forward, to help grow geocaching and add members to this big ol’ happy family.
Ain’t no Party like a WGA party cuz’ a WGA party don’t Stop.
When something is special to you , you want to share it with everyone. I may not have the best ideas out there but I know how to listen to them and work with a group to make things happen.

MemberBecause enjoy finding and coming up with new ways to play the game keeping it exciting and would like to bring that to the board.
All of the following shows my commitment and excitement for geocaching. After starting into this there is too much I take into account when planning and designing this stuff, so I will just try to provide the gist of a few different things. All this little stuff is a lot of work and adds to the fun of the game.
I love making new and exciting events that have not been done before. Two events not on here yet are the 2nd Annual Hiking/ Geocaching Rusk County Felsenmeer CITO Event on April 25th and the Canoe and Kayak Portaging Event June 6th on Sawmill Lake. They are in the announcements forum wi-geocaching.com/forums/forum/geocaching-in-wisconsin/announcements/

Hiding caches of all different kinds to satisfy every geocachers favorite flavor.

I make my own fun games promoting my own caches and showing appreciation to the finders. GC57YNN
What started out as being kind of a fun little joke to mess with some fellow geocachers turned out to be quite fun and a challenge. What happens is if you can get into the top 5 finders of my caches I will place a cache out in the area next to the Leaderboard Cache. Might make up a little story about you and share my favorite log of yours on the cache page.
I still have to make a cache for raslas but they made the list after the snow fell so I am waiting to place one in the spring.

LINKEDIN PROFILE http://www.linkedin.com/in/teamnorthwoodsI have a degree in Marketing and a certificate in Supervisory Leadership.
I have been the Internet Coordinator for Chippewa Valley Satellite / Chippewa Valley Electric since September 2005 http://www.chipvalley.com . Before that I pulled away from my own business Northwoods Electronics. http://www.northwoodselectronics.com I had found a niche in our area and was able to fill it. During almost the same time I was the Electronics Manager at FS Appliance and TV / Ace Hardware in Ladysmith. I have worked at the family business forever. Hunter’s Best Deer Scent, http://www.deerpee.com.
My life has been nothing but building customer relationships and growing businesses.Previously in one of the forums we talked about getting out of our comfort zone. This was again one of those times. I made my first commercial back in 2010. Prior to that I was on a 20 minute radio program for a couple years where I talked about everything from Bringing High Speed Internet to the Back Forty to new concept technologies coming up in the future. There is more from going on the radio to help raise money for the Beacon house during their festival of toys for 1 hour blocks for 3 days. You get the idea.
This all makes me into an idea guy. Some good, some bad but almost all no matter what were stepping stones that lead to something good. That is maybe one of the most important. Of course you have to be nice and enjoy what you do, have initiative otherwise you would not be at this point. Trying new things and being open to ideas. If they fail scrap them. Take what you learned and apply them to something else until it is just right. Continue to plan what to do next to keep the excitement going for your customers, members, and fellow geocachers. It applies to everything.

MemberI think that the past two years shows my commitment to the WGA. I am on the website several times most days and have put a lot of energy into planning events, contacting members, writing the newsletter, building relationships, talking with parks departments, etc. I love the game of geocaching and the organization of the WGA. But I don’t like to think of it as work, I enjoy putting in the effort and I hope that people enjoy the things that I’ve helped come up with.

ParticipantI would like to continue to serve on the WGA because I have handled the “business side” of the organization. WGA charges no membership fees yet incur yearly operational expenses such as the website hosting. WGA charges nothing to participate in events yet incurs costs such as shelter reservations, campsite reservations, firewood and related supplies each time. WGA has sponsored CITO events by offering funding to cover supplies.
I took the WGA shirts from being just a camp-out shirt to being a WGA “branded” logo apparel line that most recently includes the hats and lanyards. This apparel line has been what has been a major funding source for our organization. As we look to the future, WGA needs to switch this up again to keep it current and I am ready to continue to do so.

ParticipantI will be totally committed and give it my all if elected to the Board. I have lots of enthusiasm to bring along with me 🙂 It isn’t hard to be enthusiastic and get involved in something you really enjoy. It also makes it easy to let some of your enthusiasm “rub off” onto others.
