Congrats to WI.Hibiscus on reaching #1,500 at Foxbox GCXDHW this past weekend. And what an amazing journey it was for this milestone. First she had to walk downhill through up to almost 3 feet of snow, then cross a snow-covered frozen stream (we think), then a STEEP uphill climb over many rocks and downed logs that couldn’t be seen under the snow. After that she reached a rock wall that stretched for hundreds of feet left and right and was about 10 to 30 feet in height. Then squeaking her way through a pass in the rock wall, she passed some mini caves that would make great locations for caches, then she had to climb up the rocks and ascend to the top (with numerous photo opps along the way), then continued on through the woods until reaching GZ. She must have been pretty tired – she didn’t make an angel in the snow this time! You go girl!

02/18/2011 at 11:33 am #1943218Yay Sherry! I was glad to be along for the ride to and from the access point–I hope to get this one myself in another season. I know how much you enjoy adventures, and this one certainly qualifies. On to more caching adventures!

Congrats on finding a fun adventure for the milestone.
02/18/2011 at 7:27 pm #1943221WOW, Hack 1of2 . That’s a lot of information. It’s like you were there 🙂
I made the snow angel earlier in the day at Wet Maze. I’m only allowed one per day.

02/20/2011 at 8:22 pm #1943227I was there! And it was fun! I am proud to say that I trailblazed the way to this find. Always fun to cache with Sherry. Not every female cacher likes to hike up snow-covered rocks or climb in the rocks by Lake Michigan – or visit it a 5/1 cache several times to try to find it, but I can always count on Wi.Hibiscus to go to distance with me! Congrats on 1500 Sherry. It’s been a blast to be a part of some of those smileys!
