I was forwarded this email…anyone know anything about this?
GC forum thread – http://forums.groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=178707 Groundspeak received the following email. With their permission, here is the re-post.
If you are interested, please contact Julia using the info below.
Greetings ~ My name is Julia Jenkins and I am a casting producer for ABC families hit reality show ‘Wife Swap.’ We are currently casting for our fourth season and we are looking for FAMILIES THAT HAVE A PASSION FOR GEOCACHING/TREASURE HUNTING. We want to feature a family that lives and breathes adventure. Families that appear on the show receive $20,000 as a thank you. And if you refer a family that appears on the show you would receive $1000. The premise of Wife Swap is simple: for seven days, two wives from two different families with very different values exchange husbands, children and lives (but not bedrooms) to discover what it’s like to live a different family’s life. It’s a fun social experiment and a great way to see your family in a whole new light. Here at ‘Wife Swap’ we look for a two-parent home with at least one child between the ages of 6 and 17 living at home full time. If you are interested, please email me and tell me a little about your family and then I will be in touch. Or if you would like to refer a family, please email me their contact information and I will be in touch. Thanks! — Julia Jenkins Associate Casting ProducerRDF Media USA1790 Broadway 11th Floor,NY, NY 10019P: 646.747.7941E: [email protected] Personally, I will be looking forward to the episode.
RothstafariGroundspeak11/29/2007 at 6:16 pm #1881589The first that I’ve heard about it. I’ll keep my eyes open.
11/29/2007 at 6:50 pm #1881590My feeling is that the program Wife Swap is perfect example of how awful prime time television programing has become. A $20,000 stipend is not nearly enough compensation to be humiliated on national television. The Groundspeak thread is an interesting read. Most contributors predict that it will put geocaching in a very negative light, stereotyping cachers as crazed hunters of tupperware. Oh wait, that’s what we are! 8) Never mind…

I have been humiliated for far less….but I agree that is a small compensation.

11/29/2007 at 10:48 pm #1881595There was that time I wasn’t paying attention and back off the shoulder of a gravel fire lane after doing a cache … oh never mind, that was Wife Swamping.
Note: Never make your wife get out and do the pushing, no matter how bad your migraine is.
11/30/2007 at 12:12 am #1881596Not a chance!! The thought just makes me sick to my stomach!! My life is like a slow motion accident taking place and I don’t need the added humiliation of watching myself make an a$$ of myself in front of the whole world.
Then again, for a cool million, I’d do it naked.
11/30/2007 at 2:15 am #1881597I’ll pay a million five for you to keep your clothes on!

11/30/2007 at 5:55 am #1881599This thread has given me a much needed giggle after watching the Dallas game!
😯 🙁 😆 😆
The subject line made we think LB7 was having marital difficulties….
11/30/2007 at 3:51 pm #1881600After 44 years, I think I am going to stick with the one I have. I am sure there are a lot of wonderful ladies out there, but I am not going to take the chance of losing the one I have.

Yep, that is almost what I was going to say about my one of a kind wife. 🙄 Almost, but not quite. 😯
