Trekkin’ and I decided to brave the weather to do these today, since I’m hosting a storytelling retreat in Lansing Iowa the same weekend as the picnic. This way, Trekkin’ can just spend his time at the picnic, doing what he enjoys most, talking!

Anyway, these are a real treat. My knees are killing me from the up and down, but the geology, the views, the changing vistas and the thrill of the final hunt make it worth your time. When you go to the picnic, do what we did (but didn’t really intend to do) and find the Hemlock Trail that takes you up Mt. Pisgah. We were trying to find “Lynx” on the Ice Cave Trail…..

We kind of never figured out the right place to get to it. We ended up on TOP of the cave, and worked our way down to that one! But if we hadn’t goofed up, we’d never have enjoyed the Mt. Pisgah climb, either.

We’ll second all of the above. Anyone who hasn’t been there is in for a real treat with these. We attended the Wildcat Mountain event last year and had big silly smiles on our faces all morning. Highly recommended.
