    Hi,

I have been contacted for having a geocaching demonstration at the event again this year. Their goal is to recruit Cub Scouts to become Boy Scouts.

Location: Badger Prairie Park, Verona, WI
    N 42 59.906 W 089 30.819 is a good reference point to get to the park.

We would hide several caches a couple weeks prior to the event.

During the event, groups of the scouts rotate through various events. At our station we would explain geocaching, show them some examples of cache containers and then go out in smaller groups to find the ones we hid.

In past years it has been very cold, and sometimes snowy, so be prepared for that. The more GPSr units and volunteers we can get the better they can get an idea what geocaching is about.

Please contact me if you would like to assist in this event.

Jeff from Hotdogs Off Trail will be there to help. This has always been a fun event. Don’t forget to bring a can of soup. all soups are thrown into a big pot and hot hobo always tastes good after hiking in the snowoup for all.

The more the merrier. Mike, do you have a date for the hiding yet??

They aren’t doing the pot of soup this year.

Everyone is just expected to bring their own snack and such.

I don’t have a date for hiding planned yet, am open to suggestions.
Jan 17th or 18th would probably be the best dates for us, we may be out of town the next two weekends.

I might be able to help, If I am not working. What time does it start?

I would be available on the 17th or 18th to meet to hide a few temps and get to see the area. It would be great to meet and have help from the Marble Guy. Let’s set a time if this weekend works for some or all of us.

We should have our members there at about 8am. they want everything ready to go at 8:30. should be done at noon.

We can also use help hiding temporary caches for it, even if you can’t attend the event. or you can attend without hiding as well.

hiding date/time hasn’t been determined yet.

I am ok with the 17th or 18th for hiding and I will see you on the the 7th.

Plan is to meet for hiding caches at 10am on Saturday Jan 17th. We may need to park down at the dog park if they haven’t cleared the drive up to the shelter area.

    We will be bringing donuts.
We will also likely bring our geopup, unless it is really cold.

We generally use medium cache containers (typically ammo boxes) for the hides, and they are generally 1 difficulty hides.

    The more the merrier 🙂

I’ll send my contact info directly to volunteers.
