Just read that I-90 from Albert Lea to the South Dakota border, and I-35 from Albert Lea to the Iowa border have been shut down and the plows pulled off the road. We’re starting to get slammed and drifted here as well.
This morning they were saying just colder and flurries. I know not to trust the weather guys more than a day out, but a few hours? Something must have shifted pretty quickly somewhere!
At least the tracks to the cache I placed earlier today should be covered! 😉
01/26/2010 at 2:26 am #1921052I was on my way to Nebraska and got as far as Albert Lea. At about 1:30 pm I-35 got so bad in spots that you could not see farther than about 20 feet in front of the car. I was glad to quit driving after going about 20 miles in that.
One of my co-works was coming from west of Fargo and they shut down I-29 in South Dakota.
I am hoping they open the highway tomorrow morning so we can continue on.
01/26/2010 at 4:14 am #1921053but the days are getting longer……

… or 17 days after jerrys dad’s new baby will be born.
You do the math.
01/26/2010 at 4:23 am #1921055yeah, but whatever you do, don’t trust that cousin of mine, the groundhog.

Sorry! Just had too!You are forgiven, Cheezehead.
But back on topic…
Just had some wind howling around the corner of the house. Talking wind chills again. But the sun’s starting to break through a bit now. Wonder if it gets really cold if we’ll be able to walk on top of all the snow after all that rain.01/26/2010 at 5:57 pm #1921060Well the snow finally stopped falling! Now here comes the cold! There’s gonna be some pretty frigid FTF’s this weekend.
01/26/2010 at 7:46 pm #1921061Just means all those T5s will be a bit more solid. After hauling canoes and/or kayaks around and arranging shuttles, we are beginning to see the appeal of finding them in the winter when they’re some distance away!
01/28/2010 at 3:17 am #1921062This weather couldn’t be any better. I had a few caches on my list to do this winter where the ice was becoming questionable. After the next few days, Saturday is looking to be a fun day.
01/28/2010 at 1:28 pm #1921063I agree, we were secretly hoping for some ice making weather, too!
02/08/2010 at 4:41 am #19210649-14 inches of the white stuff by tuesday night here. Bummer, we were going to visit the pineapple under the sea Saturday. WE will have to see how deep it gets.
