You can have it if you like…I’d even be willing to write up the HTML for you……or do you just want to find it? I’m a bit fried on placing caches of late…

Umm, I better not get in too far over my head with cache placements. And West Bend is a little packed… although I suppose the Kettle Moraine Forest might still have room…
09/24/2008 at 9:21 pm #1896356No thanks… all my relatives live there…
Mrs. TE09/24/2008 at 10:09 pm #1896357Here’s another one, unclaimed so far, so it would be a FTF.
GC1AQ1P
Trekkin’ and Birdin’s “How Hungry Are You?” Challenge
Do a bunch of our favorite caches, then find the final and we’ll take you and a friend out to eat! [;)]
Gary, the 5 across one would be fun.
09/24/2008 at 11:38 pm #1896358Nice… brings back memories of cheating at auto bingo on trips as a kid ๐
But… uhg. You put the 500 traditional caches right where the “Free” space belongs.

TELooks like six new ones in your area, TE. Go get ’em!

What about a nice 5 across challenge?:
I prefer the challenges to be simple and really hard to complete…though ones like this are more attainable to the populous (though that is not necessarily a good thing as it diminishes the grandeur of other extreme challenges).BINGO!! where’s the log????

09/26/2008 at 3:43 pm #1896361I am going to put together a challenge cache ๐
I’ve seen many of them already even before this thread. I even had a small challenge that was more of a race but I only kept it running last winter based on finding “Winter Friendly” caches.
I think we have enough adventure and variation in the Fox Valley area to warrant a region-based challenge cache.
Hopefully I will incorporate something new and something blue and enough worthwhile incentive to get some buzz going about it.
On a related note, should I average the terrain rating or stick with the terrain of the final itself? You will get to pick your poison on this one, so it will be possible to not have to do a 5-star terrain cache.
What about the difficulty level of a challenge cache? Again, should I average it? Should I set it at a 5 for incentive/inspiration?
I assume everyone likes these challenge caches to be ammo cans so that is what I will be placing. No urban micro for this one.
Geocoin for every finder. Gift certificate for FTF. I saw the “take you out for dinner” idea. What are some other incentives you’ve seen for these types of caches?
I will disallow sagasu from FTF somehow. ๐ Joking aside, there will be some cachers that have already stepped up to the challenge so to speak and found some/many/almost all of the caches on the list. As with other challenges, I see that this is generally accepted.
I will throw a clause in about caches on the list that get archived. I’ve seen that happen on some of these “find the following caches” type caches which then wrinkles the whole deal.
For you challenge seekers, get ready to grab your flashlight, borrow a kayak, sharpen your pencils, dont forget your ladder and digital camera, bring along a child or 2, and maybe grab a pair of water wings and flippers. Hmm… How many attributes are there…
Thanks for some new inspiration pharmgirl… You asked and you shall receive!

You better check Appletons placement rules I’m not sure Ammo cans are allowed……

It wouldn’t be the first time I brought my kayak up there to find a cache… ๐
09/26/2008 at 4:36 pm #1896363Hummm…..I just thought of perhaps having a Geocachers Most Wanted challange. We could have a number of criminals hiding around the state and to claim the cache you’d have to capture a certain number of them (or all of them). It would require people from different areas of the state to place caches…all caches would use the same page text and the only thing different would be the wanted poster> It’s more of a traveling challange than a numbers run.
Does anyone have interest in this?
09/26/2008 at 4:47 pm #1896364That could be a lot of fun! I’d be game to place something. Not that we need incentive, but it would give people a new option for traveling around the state after completing challenges like DeLorme or Counties.
What would we be wanted for? Hmmmm. Left ourselves wide open here.

This could even be done regionally….you know, you have to round up whole gangs, with there being several gangs statewide. Possibly with regional finals and a centrally located Final Final where you would round up THE BOSS.

That has a little bit of the flavor of the MN State Park Challenge. If you complete a geographical quarter of the parks you’ve attained one level, and there’s another if you complete the whole enchilada.
I’ve talked with Zuma about this being a fun idea to steal for Wisconsin. There are at least several state parks I haven’t been to.

Perhaps that would be a good way to approach it…each criminal resides in a different state park…to do the series I envision, I’d want the caches all to be at minimum larger sized small containers.
(not to say that this is the way the criminals need to be hunted down-I’d not take your challange idea away…just throwing this out there)

We like the state parks idea, too, but the Minnesota Challenge goes only till the end of this year, at least for the coin prizes. That kind of limits the completion for most people, especially those from farther away. A challenge like this should be ongoing.

Let’s not give outsiders the idea that criminals are roaming on the loose in Wisconsin State Parks! ๐ฏ Maybe use something for each park that is associated with it and use the trading card idea, or maybe have friendly mascots for each park or logos or numbers for each park.
