One thought on the calculator. There is a website out there, http://www.mygeocachingprofile.com, which has several Delorme challenge maps on it, but not Wisconsin. I suspect they would be glad to add us if we asked them, and I have the coordinates of the grid if you don’t. Of course, we can’t require people to use this, but I think most people would prefer this to doing it manually.
According to their website, WI is 5th in the list to be added to the website.
Thanks for the link! There is a comma at the end of your link for some reason. http://www.mygeocachingprofile.com
Whoops, cj snuck that in there…
I’d still like the existing (albeit non-working) code for the challenge however. I think that there are some additional possibilities to utilize this code base for other things including:
1) Delorme Challenge (old / new versions as well as “newer” versions as the gazateer is updated)
2) Badger (72 county challenge)
3) Other “Challenge” cache progress / validation.
4) Cache mapping with 0.1 mile circles around known caches (to aid in placement of new caches).
There are macros for GSAK available for many of the challenge caches as well. They aren’t all completely bulletproof, though. The WRC one says we qualify for Komplete Geocaching IL style, but neglects to take into account the required number of finds that have to be from IL and from the GONIL region. So it’s not entirely perfect.
Anything available on any of these for Mac? Some of us aren’t very PC.

Not directly no, you have to run windows on a emulator like Parallels Desktop, Vmware Fusion, or one of the other less mainstream products.
The web based ones mentioned should work though.
Well, if I could figure out what Splash just said, it might help. Think I’ll stick to counting on the fingers and toes and marking off the map book.
Map book???? 😯 What’s that??? 🙄 😉 😛
