Friends of Wisconsin State Parks Encourages All To Attend Town MeetingsThe board members of the Friends of Wisconsin State Parks are asking all park users and outdoor enthusiasts to participate in the State Park System Town Meetings held around the state in June and July.
‘The support groups to the State Parks and Trails have a major stake in how the Park System is run,’ said Bill Morrissey, Director of the Wisconsin State Park System. ‘It is absolutely crucial that they provide input and guidance in the process of planning for the next ten years. The meetings will be a great outlet for sharing what each person would like to see in the parks and trails in the future.’
A series of questions posing a future look at the State Park System will be completed during the meetings. If unable to attend, interested parties can fill out the survey online at http://www.wiparks.net. The Wisconsin State Park System administrators will take input from the meetings in to consideration as they finish their strategic plan. They plan should be unveiled in the spring of 2006.
For more information about the town meetings contact Policy Committee Co-Chair and FWSP Board Member, John Waring at 715.847.8657. If you are interested in helping to host a meeting in your area contact Kate Zurlo-Cuva at [email protected].
