A pretty good size school of white bass moved through on the wally cam. Isn’t it a little early for them things?

We’re not the only ones watching. The cam has made it to the AP wires and is now showing up on local media channels. I head it on FOX news Friday night. Here’s the AP release:

Wisconsin Web attraction: Underwater cam shows spawning walleyes, sturgeon in Wolf River

    By Associated Press

    11:28 PM CDT, April 22, 2009
SHIOCTON, Wis. (AP) — Anglers who can’t get on the water are getting the next best thing by viewing spawning walleyes, sturgeon and other fish on eastern Wisconsin’s Wolf River via Web cam.

Gary Bunnell operates the Web site http://wolfrivercam.com using underwater cameras in the river near Shiocton and Fremont.

Comments posted on the page show it’s getting hard for fishing enthusiasts to resist, even though they sometimes can watch and see no fish. At other times, they watch a steady flow.

Bunnell said he started the project as a hobby, and it apparently attracts so much interest because it captures the natural movements of the fish.

The Internet audience has come from as far away as Australia.

I went up to Bamboo Bend to watch them yesterday it was quite a sight. The kids sure got a kick out of it. We even took a video but it was accidentally deleted before we got home. Dang Nabit. Will have to do it again next year.

Remember this from last year? Should be about the time to start keeping an eye on this.

I’ve kept an eye on them over the winter, some were up or replaying old footage saw a few things go by not long ago but it should get crazy soon.

We are all amused so easily. I watched for about a half an hour too. It is kinda interesting.

Jerry sat in front of the computer yelling at the top of his lungs “The is another fish!” every time he saw one. My wife finally yelled at him that we didn’t need to know everyone. I then went and enjoyed the show with him!
