Hello,
I was thinking of using a baby bottle for a small cache… I already know it’s waterproof since it’s meant to hold liquid.Do you think this would be ok to use?
Also I am trying to decide if I should camoflage it or not? (with camo tape or something)
01/02/2005 at 3:16 am #1740204Oops forgot to add I am going for a ‘baby/ new year’ theme for the cache which is why I was thinking about maybe not using ‘camo’ (would cover it and make it look less like a bottle…)
01/02/2005 at 4:14 am #1740205While it’s waterproof, many baby bottles will allow the passage of air, and therefore water vapor. If your bottle has it, I’d also include that little plastic disc that will seal off the mouth of the bottle as well, or use a dab of glue to completely seal up the hole in the nipple.

Something painted flat black looks like a shadow. I’ve found it better than virtually any other color.

I’ll be adding that info to my notes….

Or just leave it as is and hide it?
I’m thinking if I don’t paint it and someone find it who doesn’t know what it is they’d probably leave it alone… (who wants an old baby bottle?)01/03/2005 at 3:36 am #1740210Someone may pick it up for that reason…you’d be surprised. Then there’s the person who may think it is trash and toss it. I vote for painting it…cammo of any kind will make it blend. Once they find it…the connection will dawn on them. Unless you are hiding it somewhere where the container alone will be the cammo? Interested to see what happens….good luck.
01/03/2005 at 10:09 pm #1740211I just did a cache this weekend that was a baby bottle! Of course it was in the desert! It does rain in Arizona but not very often. It was a clear see-through bottle. AZ just got done having flooding rains and everything was bone dry.
