Congrats to Drhaas for being a part of the team that set the new world’s record for most finds in a day. According to super secret reports on Facebook, they found 700 caches yesterday on the ET trail, and plan to slow down to 400 today. Wow.

I saw the logs on our “Recent Logs” harvester page. WOW!! 700 in a day is crazy talk! I commend you on your stamina! Congrats!!

Congrats Steve and Donna. When all of the logging is done that will also put them well over 15K.

Oh, no! They’re logging again right now! Must be part alien themselves to do all of this caching and logging. We think on this set of caches it IS about the numbers, and drhaas is part of it all. Yikes! (and congrats!)

that is an impressive feat, congrats!

Unimaginable – until you take a look at the map! Truly impressive still, considering they didn’t start the run until 4am

Not the way we cache, but still fun to see what can be done. I think my mind is stuck in 2006, when, as of May 1, Wisconsin had a mere 4,045 geocaches. Right now, there are 15,420 geocaches in Wisconsin.

Congratulations DrHaas on a most impressive run!

Rick, you really put a great spin on this. I’ll tell ya……Haas must be caching in his sleep, because our phone rang at 1:43AM last night, there was someone there but not saying anything, not a dial tone….and caller id showed it was him! LOL

Congratulations……we all have our fun in our own way, and I know this is a blast for you!

That’s unbelievable stamina. Congrats. Is my math right? Isn’t that like a cache every 2 minutes for 24 hours straight? I’ve gotta eat and take a potty break somewhere in those 24 hours. Seems exhausting to travel 500ft, find a container (I’m sure this is obvious), open a container, sign/stamp a log, close the container in 2 minutes and repeat that 700 times.

Could Rubber Duck and Pig Pen bring their convoy? First car/truck finds the container, open its it up and takes off for next cache. 2nd vehicle signs the log and takes off. 3rd vehicle closes it up and puts it back. Might be able to topple 700 with that scenario.

They did this in only 20 hours which means they had to find a cache every 1 minute and 43 seconds. Seems difficult to me unless there was some leapfrogging going on or something like that. I guess it is possible for a team but are you actually witnessing all the containers this way?

Trekkin’ talked to Steve last night, and it’s just him and his son-in-law driving to these. Not our cup of tea, but I’m sure those two have been having a blast, which will make memories for them when it’s all said and done.
